Apparently talks are underway to match Tasmanian Daniel Geale with middleweight kingpin Kelly Pavlik after Geale's team couldn't come to terms with Kariz Kariuki.
Good test for both fighters if it comes off.

Re: Shane McConville vs Trevor Jacky?
First I've heard of Trevor Jacky... I'm also not sure what the "national independent computer rankings" system is that they're talking about, but Jacky's opponents so far have a combined record of 6-11-2. That doesn't lead me to believe he is setting the world on fire. Nobbsy is referring...

Re: Sweet Science: Robbie Peden tribute live in studio
What about stopping Gatti twice in training camp. And sending back the Don King contact with a smiley face for the signature. Bomber told me another story once that happened between the two Nate Campbell fights. They both turned up at a fight card in Florida and when he left for the after party, Bo...

Awesome show, really enjoyed it.
Bomber is a legend and a great teller of old war stories.
Imagine telling the Yanks you can walk from Australia to New Zealand on low tide, fucken hilarious!

Shane McConville vs Trevor Jacky?
According to Tony Nobbs, he's cherry ripe for it. Both entered the ring rated below my No.4 Trevor Jacky (3-0, 2 KOs) from the Tweed Stingrays on the national independent computer rankings. Lovet was No.5, McConville No.8. Because he hasn't fought a six rounder yet, Trevor is not rated by the Austra...

As a footnote, the look on Team McConville's faces was priceless when they announced the result as a majority decision. They thought they were going robbed again.

Re: Cranbourne results
Whitehead injured his shoulder, Watts caught a fractured cheekbone in sparring, hence their fights were pulled. Congratulations to McConville and his team, they fought a good fight and came away with the win. Porky couldn't pull the trigger for whatever reason and by the seventh round it was obvious...

Re: Who should Paul Briggs comeback opponenent be?
He beat Van Aswegen easily in a 12 rounder. What did you want him to do? He had an ankle injury a couple of days before the fight. What health problems do you mean? He had problems with his adrenal and nervous system - not sure what the medical term for it is, or if it can cause long term damage. M...

Re: Who should Paul Briggs comeback opponenent be?
Not bagging porky, you're right Marlin, if he got in there he would give it a red hot go! But that's just it, he wouldn't get in there, he would be out of his league. Just curious, but what league is Briggsy in these days after retiring three years ago with health problems? The two wars with Adamek...

Re: BELL !
It depends what you mean by big. If big is a rematch with Porky Lovett , then yes. If big is Chad Dawson, then no. Bell is a decent domestic level fighter, he as good heart and a great motor, but I haven't seen anything from him that tells me he will make any noise on the world scene. Why? Bell ham...

Re: Anthony 'Choc' Mundine
Word is Choc will fight welter/light middle Rob Medley early next year. Surely not !!! He's already told us that he's going overseas to conquer the WORLD in 2010. :oo As reported on WIN Townsville, WIN Toowoomba and WIN Cairns. I'm sure he said he wanted to fight in the States in 2010... Maybe he &...

Re: how much do aussie boxers get paid?
Try $200-$250 per round.
I imagine Hopoate would've made some decent paydays early on when they were able to market him to the NRL crowd, but I doubt he's ever made $10K for a fight (the McCall bout aside).
If an aussie boxer is averaging $5K a fight, they're doing pretty well.

Why is it that the ¨TOP WORLD CHAMPIONS¨ such as Anthony Mundine and Sakio Bika are afraid to Fight my Fighter, Rogoberto Alvarez? Can anyone tell me ? Probably because they don't have a clue who Alvarez is - much like me until I looked up his record. Here's a suggestion: rather than targeting Mund...

It's just sour grapes from Eric. In the lead up to the Hopoate-McCall fight, he was posting every single article he could find on Hopoate and spruiking him like he was the next big thing. Half of the first page of the forum was Hopoate threads. It simply got tiresome and Eric didn't respond well whe...

Actually Eric, you're not too bad at exaggerating yourself.
It wasn't that long ago that you were talking up John Hopoate as the next great heavyweight champion.
