Re: desert showdown
The worst sportsmanship ever imaginable! A young boy around 10yrs old was walking out of the auditorium, through the casino, with his family very proudly holding his belt and smiling.A parent of the loser in this bout(I was told) backhanded the little kid across the face! The brawl was on! Someone p...

If Someone says a ring was Rigged to collapse to change the outcome They win the Jackass award. That is the dumbest and most laughable statements I've read in awhile!! Get a MRI.

Re: How could Boxing be improved????
Under 18 and Novice the scoring should remain the same. Open division,No headgear and 10 pt must scoring.TAKE away a point for knockdown. That will be easier to score and make fights more exciting!!

Re: 2009 National Golden Gloves
California is one of the biggest Franchises. It is suppose to be for the Boxers and clubs to showcase their talent and Gauge how the young fighters compare to their peers.Hardin forgets this.He just sits back with no competent mangers running things in San Diego or Norcal. If he is just looking for ea...

Re: 2009 National Golden Gloves
:geek: I can relate to the jealous. You seem to like the way your GG is handled Dennis, and We are jealous since ours is run by someone who doesn't know his ass from his elbow. No local GG in San Diego? Kids must go to L.A. to fight.Norcals are held in Vacaville? What is this?San Francisco venue draws ...

Re: Jeremiah Graziano - Pro Debut
Graziano is going to be a great fighter.Give the kid credit no matter who he fought. His power is RARELY seen on a 21 year old.He had problems finding sparing partners as an amatuer.I have seen him fight numerous times and he always puts on a good show.Is he a good boxer? He has his own unique style t...

Re: Why Ringside And Not National Level
Why does USA boxing not promote the Ringside tournament on it's website? Could it be that EVERLAST is the official sponsor of USA BOXING? WHen I was at the Olympic training center I noticed any Ringside equipment had tape over the Ringside name.So the answer to the question most probably is Money.It...

Re: National PAL Info & Results
I saw the fights at 178. The three power punchers,Pritchard, Zugic and Gumina got out boxed.Williams fought a great fight. His strength is quickness not power. He moved in and out and side to side alot. That is why he was out of gas.Scoring as he moved. He new he had to smother that big long right. And n...

Re: Predictions on P.A.L tournament winners
Look for the 165 & 178 classes to have close matchups. Especially 178 with Shabazz ,Williams,Zugic, and Gumina (who stopped Ledic in the first round in the cal pals) Dorian Anthony did not enter.

Re: My Olympic experience.
Great post form an Insider. The hit and hold is ruinning boxing.J.O.'s are becoming more fun to watch for the boxing fan.More action. No hit and running. No long holds. Why does a hard jab to the face get the same points as a powerful knockdown?? A field goal gets 3 points,a touchdown 7.Fans want to see...

The computer system works well.It scores hard blows and not puff flurries that have no impact on the fight. Also, putting the scoring on big screens,as the USA nationals did in march, get the fans more invoved and make a much more interesting fight for the average fan.For this sport to succeed we need...
