Re: Malignaggi got me thinking

I don't know, Serena's quite a bit more attractive than Briggs. No facial hair either. If you're looking for a boxer with huge boobs, maybe ur thinking of Greg Page?

Re: Any career wrecked by inability to get fights?

Yeah, Archie had to wait an unusually long time, and Charles got famous at Heavyweight although his best years were clearly at light heavy. Somebody mentioned McCallum. McCallum could get fights, just not the ones he really wanted (Hearns, Leonard, etc). I"m curious about the Mitch Green post ca...

Re: what is your all-time worst decision you've seen?

I'd like to also nomitate James Kinchen vs. Tommy Hearns. Two of my all time favorite fighters, but clearly Kinchen got the best of him that night. And speaking of Hearns, EVEN RAY LEONARD THOUGHT TOMMY WON THEIR SECOND FIGHT.

Re: what is your all-time worst decision you've seen?

Felix Sturm vs. Orcar De La Hoya  For a bloke who claims to watch fights for a living, you sure haven't seen too many if this is your all-time worst pick. Other picks were taken by the time I got on here. I don't watch fights for a living, I talk over them. I do get paid to talk over them but ...

Re: Rate The 1980's WBA Heavyweight Champions

Excluding Mike, who came at the end of the decade, I'll go with Dokes. Witherspoon is probably the most potential and Weaver the most consistant.

Re: Any career wrecked by inability to get fights?

Langford and Wills are very good examples. I'm hoping for some more modern examples. James "The Heat" Kinchen might qualify. He was rated #1 at middleweight for 2-1/2 years without getting a shot. Then they set him up for an eliminator and changed his opponent the week of the fight. The op...

This is a mighty valid question. I see so many former fighters around. Rocky isn't one of them and I don't have a clue personally. I hope somebody sheds light on this.

Richard was a light heavyweight fighter himself. You can find his record on here. As far as what he's doing now, he's a trainer and promoter here in Las Vegas. Infact, he's promoting a show in Texas near the end of the month. I see him often, as one of the fighters he trains, former UNLV basketball...

Malignaggi got me thinking

Any fights that you can remember where a fighter's hair became an issue? I think I remember Bramble having an issue with his hair in a fight once.

Re: Wilfredo Gomez v Rocky Lockridge

I'm Puerto Rican and was HIGHLY biased towards Gomez and I STILL thought Lockridge was robbed thoroughly. Rocky of course rebounded rather nicely against Mayweather. Lockridge beat Mayweather a year before fighting Gomez. He went on to lose a title fight to Julio Cesar Chavez, then beat the hell ou...

Any career wrecked by inability to get fights?

I'm wondering about quality fighters who's careers were ruined by an inability to secure fights. I know in the old days a lot of fighters were ducked shamlessly (see Charlie Burley), but I'm definitely interested in what posters here come up with.

While I am a little embarrassed that Sullivan didn't get in, what's a Hall of Fame without some controversy. Besides it will only make it that much sweeter when he finally gets in next year!

Jack Johnson deserves his ranking due to his historical significance. I'm not talking about his "outside the ring" significance of being the first black champion or his larger than life persona either. I'm talking about the fact that technique-wise he was WAY ahead of his time, and that so...

Charley Burley if he had gotten the opportunities he deserved. Archie Moore if he didn't have to wait so long for a title shot.

God I wish I remember which fight it was now, but I remember Chavez once sorta stopping a fight himself. The ref stepped in to separate the fighters and Chavez sorta assumed the fight was over and jumped on a corner to celebrate. The ref, seemingly confused, then went ahead and waved it off. Julio ...

I'm not quite as sure about Quarry being a cruiserweight champ. He could be, but sorta depends on how he was matched. Cruisers aren't too bad right now. Cooney would fare pretty well right now, but I think Klitschko would find him with "the missle." Teofilo Stevenson with a fair chance to ...

Aside from the dogfighting, never got the impression that he was a completely likeable guy. Hard for me to put a personal spin cause I was around the guy for like 11 seconds total out of my life. Some of the other fighters spoke fairly well of him, so he must've not been that huge a "thug."...
