Re: Ricky Burns vs. Juan Diaz
I think it's a possible match with Diaz returning. He wants his belts back and Burns is the top dog now that Broner has bolted.

What do the Brits thing about this hypothetical matchup? Current lightweight king against the former king who is returning.

Re: AIBA wants to add pro boxers at 2016 Olympics
Yay! Let's screw over amateur boxing even more! That will really help boxing's current situation--give amateur fighters even less incentive to stay amateur and hone their skills, flooding the pro ranks with fighters who have less business being pro than much of the current crop. Now we can 1) make ...

Re: AIBA wants to add pro boxers at 2016 Olympics
This is great news, like when basketball allowed pros in 1992. Nobody cares about Olympic boxing really but with some names it will draw more attention. Will suck for amateurs but in this country at least USA Boxing is a total joke as it is so I don't feel sorry for it. Only hope the scoring will be...

AIBA wants to add pro boxers at 2016 Olympics
LAUSANNE, Switzerland -- The International boxing association wants to change Olympic eligibility rules and allow professional fighters to compete at the 2016 Rio Games. Re: 2010 Houston Open Ring Nationals
That's why I put in Italics. A fighter cannot win as a result of a foul. The referee ruled that the cut was due to an accidental headbutt. Ordonez will be given a belt. How does Ordonez win as a result of an accidental headbutt, if a fighter cannot win as a result of a foul? That's an oxymoron. :KO:

Re: U.S. amateurs suspended for doping violations
He didn't fight in LBC in fact he never fought after winning regional Golden Gloves. The guy he beat Mercedes Manriquez took his spot and made it to nationals. That's how good Jerren is. And Mercedes is supposed to turn pro soon too, trained by Ronnie Shields.

Antonio Capulin and Rogelio De La Torre just turned pro they are from Houston. Capulin went to under 19's and Texas state golden gloves this year. De La Torre lost to Regis Prograis in Golden Gloves but has gone to state before. I LIKE Capulin. He was very impressive at U19s. Very strong boxer for ...

Rafael usually posts the amounts after promoter removes the cut so he'll end up with a decent amount probably $500k. Plus he has good endorsment with Reebok as well.

Katsidis came to England because of the bid. He's already well known in the States and even Philippines he wants big money fights he's looking at Diaz/Marquez winner.

Khan's Army is very annoying
I went to the fight and overall I was impressed by Khan. After being frustrated for 4 rounds by Paulie's foot and head movement he started walking him down in the 6th and never relented. Good performance but I think the guys who will give him trouble are Alexander and Bradley. Two Americans who are ...

Re: GULF REGIONAL OFFICIALS AND JUDGES SUCK!!!!!
Too many people complain about bad decisions. I have found that often it is a very close bout and if it doesn't go their way, they complain. Coaches need to teach their boxers about our sport and that with any subjective scoring system (judges decide what is a scoring blow so it is subjective) ther...

Re: GULF REGIONAL OFFICIALS AND JUDGES SUCK!!!!!
The problem is when a guy makes a name USA Boxing wants to market him long term, like Eric Fowler. He's a good white boxer in the lower weight divisions how often do you ever see that? Of course his style is 100% suited for the amateurs but he will get more money staying amateur then he will turning...

Re: GULF REGIONAL OFFICIALS AND JUDGES SUCK!!!!!
Is this about Daniel Ybarra's fight? It was closer than I expected that's for sure and I didn't know who won when it was over. But Ybarra has a name so you have to KO him to win. Same with Eric Fowler. He lost badly second year in a row only for them to hand him the decision. I don't blame the kids ...
