Re: WSB - World Series of Boxing
I'd be shocked if Pedro was back, he was one of the country's coaches last year, he is the head of the AIBA facility in Khazakstan. last I heard this years coaches were: Candy Lopez, Pat Barry, and Auggie Sanchez.

Re: Will AIBA APB bouts be included in the BOXREC database?
So the "official record keepers" are really a US appointed organisation telling the world what the US views as pro boxing whilst having no real recognition internationally? uhhhhh, no. again, by LAW they are pros. it isn't fight fax that decides they are pros. there are state and federal ...

Re: AIBA AUGUST NEW RULES
There's no way they will put a 17 or 18 year old fighter in with no headgear, that would be irresponsible regardless of how good the kid is.

Re: Aiba international hand wraps
Actually the hand wraps are being looked at, after the excessive number of hand injuries at the World Championships in Kazakhstan. The problem before was a hand wrapping demonstration done for the rules committee where the hand was over wrapped and didn't fit into the international gloves. Gauze and...

Re: World Series of Boxing
hmmmmm....after consiering all the facts i think it would be best to put wsb bouts on the guys record but show them as such...i.e. run a parallel database with these fights on... Why go to such lengths? They are professional. Plain and simple, and under every definition. Just count the fights and s...

Re: World Series of Boxing
[quote="yu265545"]I completely agree. All you have to do is watch the WSB - is there even a slight difference than what we see on ESPN, HBO, etc.? I wonder whether AIBA has asked Boxrec NOT to count the bouts in their database. If the boxers knew that their fights would count on the most w...

Re: World Series of Boxing
The ABC considers them professional records. Good for them. BoxRec does not. The ABC considers them professional records. This is why Boxrec is not considered an "official" database, but an information sight, and fight fax is. I think Boxrec diminishes their credibility when they have a b...

Re: USA National Championships
The dates have been postponed for the US Nationals. What are the new dates? The new dates have not been set as of yet. The dates have to be set around WSB as well as the American boxers involved in that league will have an opportunity to compete in the National Championships. Contact the National o...

Re: USA Boxing sanction update?
To all LBC presidents of USA Boxing, Like all of you I am in receipt of the most recent memo from USA Boxing about our immediate suspension. I’m a little shocked by the outrage of all of you. Earlier this year you were asked to vote on the future of Hal Adonis, after his public statements in Los Ang...

Re: Americas Qualifier
WOW Dominic Brazeale beat Payares, I guess even AIBA officials can be bought off by Michael King. I've seen this kid box many times before and he doesn't get stronger as the bout goes on yet the judges have him out pointing Payares 7-2 in the third? The same Payares who took Cam Thompson apart. This...

Re: 2011 national pal toledo ohio thread
I helped Derick with Verbain all week. He is still waiting just a little too much to win a national championship. He should trust the corner instruction a little more, and become aggressive against top guys. He did well (in spite of waiting a lot) until he ran into Sammy Vasquez, who is coming off o...

Re: Golden Gloves "Warning" from USAB-Olympic Status in Jeopardy
Just to let everybody know. Golden Gloves has come to an agreement with USA Boxing to keep the National Golden Gloves as an Olympic qualifier. I commend the Golden Gloves, and USA Boxing for working out thier issues in an amicable fashion.

Re: Do you Yanks use AIBA Appproved gear?
Well that would be BS for AIBA to mandate such a policy. I think AIBA is becoming way too micromanaging. It will also be hard to enforce that rule unless AIBA really lowered their fees which is why other companies have not tried to become AIBA licensed. In the US, equipment used in competitions onl...

That's a shame that they aren't better than that to leave because the don't feel like boxing anymore, if USAB had the guts they would pull their books for 6 months and teach them better sportsmanship.

Re: usa nationals
That came from Patrick Borkowski, they don't seem to want to publish anything that can come back to haunt them later. I understand the gauze rule being ambiguous, but what are the chances that two boxers, both wrapped by the same person, would have the same amount of gauze on each hand (4 hands) ???...

Actually they have established the qualifying process. The winner of the National Tournament is the US Team member regardless of ranking. Now based on the way they do everything else, that probably means nothing at all. He should go get an attorney, and I'm sure he can have the decision over turned,...

Re: usa nationals
