Re: Holmes vs Cooney
BRR While I sometimes agree with you. This is not one of those things. I think your dislike for my favourite Holmes is obviously clouding your thinking. I however shall entertain you and rewatch this fight, and try to see it from YOUR angle. But how are you going to get to Mars, which is the only po...

Re: Holmes vs Cooney
BRR somehow manages to make his posts more ridiculous each passing day . .a pretty remarkable feat I may say :D You may. I watched the fight the night it happened,Holmes controled it the entire way. And a knockdown counts as a 2 point deduction, not 1. Cooney was never really in that fight. And that...

Chris Archer/Anthony Dirrell
Despite what is being reported,Chris Archer signed his contract for that fight over a week ago. So either somebodies a backstabber,or the fight is Archer/Dirrell,not Dirrell/Davis

Re: Classic American West Coast Boxing
AMERICAN YOU,PERHAPS I can't stand it when I see more people who think that manners and politeness is a sign of weakness and fear. "You gotta' be tough"is the credo nowadays. Kids are the greatest offenders. In my classroom the other day,the little tykes started sounding off on how thw po...

Re: How would Frazier do in this era?
Collins, in addition to knowing nothing about boxing, you are a liar. Show where I have made any of the claims you attribute to me or where I have written that Valueev would beat anyone. You can't show it, you are a liar. Are you out of your comfort zone of Hauser-Sugar, thought? You are a pathetic...

Re: How would Frazier do in this era?
DF, was Norton moving around the ring against Foreman so that his movement had to be cut off? Are we talking about the "fleet footed" Norton who always dragged his right leg and got bombed whenever he backed up? That is like saying that Holmes effectively cut off the ring on Tex Cobb. Do ...

Re: How would Frazier do in this era?
Galt, old buddy. What is it about Valuev that has got you so excited? Is it his awesome combination punching? Maybe his speed of foot? His amazing defensive wizardy, perhaps? His skill at "milling on the retreat", as the old timers called it? Or is it his hirsute qualities that have caugh...

Re: How would Frazier do in this era?
What does any of that have to do with what I asked you? I believe you might be surprised how much power is behind the jabs of the Klitschkos and Valueev when they want to throw a hard jab. Jabs are thrown at different times for different reasons. Sometimes the jab is used to distract or blind an op...

Re: Classic American West Coast Boxing
Kinda reminds me of when David Allen Coe did songs involving the 'N' word, and he was called a racist, but the drummer in his band at the time was black. Another way of looking at it,is,I work in boxing. Almost everybody in this buisness is black, mexican,or Peurto Rican This is not a buisness that ...

Ahhhhh, I never knew. Sorry for assuming. No biggie, alot of people make that assumption. Nowadays Nazi skins are in their own seperate little world. Who said the media wasnt good for anything, because before Time and Geraldo did pieces on the Nazi skin menace, there werent any damned Nazi skins, and s...

Re: Classic American West Coast Boxing
Most people who been in prison, imo, get affiliated with one group of another. Brian wasnt a racist, though. His "trainer" was Walt Upshaw and he was black and many of Brian's friends were black as well, and most of his idols were as well. Being a skin doesnt equate racism, far from it,I u...

Re: How would Frazier do in this era?
trainer monkey, when did Foreman impress you with his jab? Was Foreman effective when he "figured out" where Ali was going? How about with Jimmy Young? Do you think Foreman needed to "figure out" where Norton, Frazier, Chuvalo, and Lyle would be? Ron Lyle was a very good fighter...

Re: How would Frazier do in this era?
More plodding than George Foreman? Foreman was excellent at cutting off the ring. You're a fool  Actually it was one of the things he did best,he'd take the center of the ring and fiigure out not where you were, but were you were going, and George would be waiting for you when you got there. And...

Re: How would Frazier do in this era?
My point is,is elusivness and his work rate would make the difference. The only two guys who could really time him out in his prime were Ali and Foreman, two all time greats. Todays heavys are way more plodding and methodical then the guys from the 60's and 70's,a guy like Frazier would give them fits
