Re: Josh Taylor vs Warren Joubert 24th March

I haven't seen Taylor, so can't really judge, but in my experience south Africans are tough, and (I'm going to get crucified for this) Scottish fighters are generally very overrated List of very overrated Scottish fighters please? If they are generally very overrated you should have a big list. You...

Re: 2 ways to view who the GOAT is

how can duran be amongs the most complet boxers (in your top 3, since you talk about duran, leoanrd and robinson) when duran cant handle a defensive running master like leonard, where in the second fight duran was still in his prime and could do nothing to leonard. he would have the same problem in...

Re: 2 ways to view who the GOAT is

Harry Greb has the most impressive record of all the ATG's. The zero footage is the only problem when discussing how great he was. His record was phenomenal. He beat 13 hall of fame inductees while mostly being hugely outweighed. As for Mayweather's record for beating the most world champions. Well...

Re: Regular press getting boxing wrong?

Probably the same guy. I think he's just a generic sports journo. I don't think he specialises in boxing. If he does then he should be strung up! I enjoyed watching McFadden more than Flynn in the games. He seems to have went off the radar. Not been too impressed with Flynn so far in the pros. Hope...

Re: Regular press getting boxing wrong?

:TU: Thats the one mate That's probably the same guy that wrote piece a few weeks ago on Reece McFadden describing him as the cheeky chappy that everybody loved from the commonwealth games. He obviously got him mixed up with Charlie Flynn. Probably the same guy. I think he's just a generic sports j...

Re: On This Day: Joe Calzaghe dominates Jeff Lacy

Loved this fight, I never seen such a one sided beating in my life, fair enough Lacy never went on to become anything special but the win for Calzaghe eventually gave him the worldwide attention he deserved It was more of a one sided schooling than a brutal beating. Although Calzaghe did beat him u...

Duran was a slickster himself but there was definitely a style of slick boxing he didn't like when he got older and undisciplined.

Great shout. I'd put Benny Lynch up there as well.

As for my answer to the thread - Its Fitzsimmons or Wilde. Both had the power to knock out much bigger men.

Re: What is your all time P4P top 10?

Or Kid Gavilan - he invented the bolo punch (half-hook/half uppercut) many have used it after him but he was the first to use it in devastating fashion. Can the followers be greater than the creator? That's why old fighters tend to get the props - the new fighters are using the techniques they show...

Re: Josh Taylor vs Warren Joubert 24th March

How do you know without watching him? Boxrec isn't an accurate way to judge a fighters ability. Willie Limond was class in his day but he's well past it. Anyway I've posted video of this Joubert guy in my last post so you can have a better judgment on if he's a better opponent than Limond. I have n...

Re: Josh Taylor vs Warren Joubert 24th March

Limond is well past it. He'd be nothing more than fodder and a decent name on Taylor's record. I really like Limond and wouldn't like to see him pummelled. Is he still firing or is he concentrating on his promotional company now? He's still a better opponent than this African bloke. How do you know...

Re: Josh Taylor vs Warren Joubert 24th March

If he wants to fight Burns within the year then why is he fighting such a nothing opponent next? It doesn't make sense. There's about 20 more interesting domestic opponents that he could have fought instead. Yeah I'd agree there. I've not seen anything of this guy but he looks a step down from the ...

But Ali was a showman, the first and best of it's kind. Ali wanted to put on a show first and foremost. He took unnecessary chances inside the ring and dared to be great and dazzle. Ali had the tools to fight like Floyd in his prime and avoid punishment and win defensively but that's not what folks...

from a techniquel standpoint ali is ahead of any heavyweight ever. josh isnt near that techniqule quality ali had and wont never had. josh is just so physical and punches so hard, has perfect height and reach, thats why people think of him so high. yeah, you are correct, garcia outclassed a midget ...

Bruno's long piston like stiff jab would completely befuddled AJ. Bruno could bang upstairs and down and was less stiff and robotic than AJ is.

Bruno wins.

Re: Garcia v Zlaticanin

I've always been big on Mikey Garcia. He's a beast physically and has great technique all round. He's calm cold and calculated. He fights nothing like his brother and trainer who was more of a action packed slickster who lacked certain physical attributes that his brother has in spades. What I like...
