Yep it's Bennedosso @ 108 as the military representative.

108-David Carlton (I gotta go with my own fighter) People forget that David only has 25 bouts but he is getting better and better. We know that beating Louie at Nationals was not easy, but I have let David know that now he has to prove that it was no fluke. He also knows there will be other tough gu...

Jon, I think what you are doing is fantastic. I know here in Cincinnati, our local media coverage is horrible when it comes to boxing in general, but especially amateur boxing. I just had Mikail Jones win the National Junior Olympics, sent the information to all of our local media, attached a pic, b...

Yup. Didn't you have two at the Silvers last year? A JO around 85 or 90lbs. and Malik? I think we spoke when our boxers were jumpin rope in the hotel pool. Was that you? I had a video camera of course. That was probably Maliks dad that you met. I wasn't able to get off work for the nationals so I h...

As we can now look back at what these guys accomlished in the amateurs and the pros, which team was better the 1992 team that only won three medals or the 1996 team that won 5 medals. Comparing pro and amateur careers, which team was better? I am biased to the matter being that my dad coached Tim Au...

I had a bunch of guys that want to go but some of them think that they can be part time boxers, so I am only taking five with me this time. Mikail Jones defeated Ricardo Gallegos 9-4 at 132lbs. Im not there but my other coach just let me know, not sure of any other results. Mikail had lost to Ricardo in Silver Gloves Nationals two years ago so a good win for him to start off the tournament.

An example of how tough it is to win the region 5 (Great Lakes) tourney is the 141# class. Here are some of the boxers who may be in Akron for the regional tourney at 141#: Donte Strayhorn Zeddie Adams Robert Easter Andriy Stankevych Johnny Garcia Alex Martin David Craddock Eric Draper Many of thes...

Unfortanately NO! There can only be one from our region. If it comes down to them it will be a great matchup again and it will be a shame that one of them will be left out.

Keep an eye on Mikail Jones at 132lbs. He just won our Ohio tournament in impressive fashion. He won two bouts, one dominant 5-0 decision and the second was a first round stoppage. He took home outstanding boxer for the tournament. He is also a former National Silver Gloves champ and runner-up. He r...

Just as a side note, Donte beat both Robert Easter and David Craddock Jr. in our Ohio LBC tournament this weekend to advance to the regionals. I only put that because I really felt that Donte should have won the first matchup with Robert. This time we got the decision and it was in Roberts home town...

I read that the team going to Salt Lake City has changed. I read that Donte Strayhorn lost a close bout to Robert Easter in the Ohio Regional GG tournament. What is this tournament? Did Toledo not have a tournament or did Cincinnati and Toledo decide to combine their franchises into one team this y...

Will he get any competition at the local level (LBC)?

He might get a bout, but not any competition, he will probably get better competition at our regional level.

when is coach givonnai doing another show down in cincinnati

The summer is sort of our travel season especially with all the tournaments going on, so I probably will not do any more show until September.

Are you sure about that? Has your LBC tournament started yet? Yes Im sure him and his coach Mike Stafford were in my gym last night getting sparring. They were frustrated that he has to qualify through the state and regional levels but since he is in a new weight class he has no other option. Our L...

Raushee is also finghting at 119lbs. now.. He has to compete at our state level for the US Champioships since he is in a new weight class.

Donte is really looking foward to the nationals. I am really glad that you enjoyed our show. I really take a great deal of pride in putting on good shows. You are right donte and zeddie put on a great bout. They are the future of the 141 weight class.
