After his first fight with Patterson he said his right hand(the hammer) was his secret weapon. I never got that. How can your right hand be your secret? He was a fairly unknown fighter and he kept his right hand secret by not saying anything about it. It's hard to tell watching a person in training...

samuel wrote:"The Hammer of Thor", wasn't that the nickname for his right hand? Anyway, this is sad news.
Yes, either that or "Ingo's Bingo".

His trainers also called his ability his "Thunder and Lightning".

Not talking about you controversial, but some people think every heavyweight champion is overrated. NO he was NOT overrated, at least not by people in the know of boxing. No one in the know claimed he was a world-class boxer. He wasn't a world-class boxer. But no one SAID he was a world-class boxer....

bollocks, robinson louis williams armstrong pep saddler Etc. etc. Terap says a lot of fights are fixed. I've seen Duran fighting and I've seen Leonard fighting. Leonard IS a great boxer. Honestly some people say great boxers are overrated just for the sake of saying they are over rated. I'm only 21 ...

Let me just make a point. I know they were all floored, but no boxer is "superman". ------------ Muhammed Ali was downed by many people. Marciano had an iron jaw but was downed by Walcott. George Chuvalo was KOd by Foreman. These three were all in Boxing Scene's "10 greatest chins&quo...

I think running is a great form of conditioning, but even the largest amount of running cannot get you fit enough for boxing. Just look at footballers. They're fit but not NEARLY as fit as boxers HAVE TO BE. I always do BLITZING on the bag, punching as hard and as fast as you can for 30 seconds, tak...

Nice post, Tantum. But I couldn't imagine going to pro right now. Seriously, there would not be any other amateurs to fight in Professional. Yeah, sparring provides experience, but you HAVE to fight sometime. Generally it takes a few years to get enough skill to be a top-class pro. You cannot go a f...

Broncano, seriously go away and troll. Tantum, I realize you want to keep the peace, but I DON'T start these arguments. Go back and study them to see. Backing down from these people is being bullied, and they're trying out they're authority. Am I suppose to let these guys do that? I am not trying to...

Broncano, if you make stupid comments like that, it's best not say anything at all. Look, terap is a MASTERFUL TROLL. Has NO ONE ever heard of "career trolls"? They skip out everything in the post except the most irrelevant part. For example, if I said, "I'm sorry Terap but you're tot...

Dave, terap always sees what he likes to see. Just look at the post in this very forum, "Is Muhammed Ali Overrated". He's backed down from the argument now though. To the last comment he'll probably reply stupidly, saying "well, actually I couldn't be bothered". And get this: HE ...

I don't know much about Fullmer, so I suppose your right Hawk. As for that (quite disgusting ) picture :D of Klitchko. I don't think punches could have done that. Maybe not a headbutt either. Maybe what happened was a few headbutts or elbows than punches opened the cut. Either way, it's quite horrib...

Where did you get your videos from? The LaMotta-v-Robinson video I have only has the first round and the last three. So yes it does exist, but you'll have a hard time finding it, as I can't find many tapes online at least. So you've seen 2 rounds. Pretty brutal slugging power for "the sweetest&...

I have the one against Maxim, too. He lost it because of heat exhaustion.

Maybe he would have lost it anyway, from welterweight to light-heavy.

That's cool, I have 11 fights of him, although many are not full fights(only show best rounds). The three olsen fights were nice to watch but in my opinion he's not really the level of Ray. I have the Fullmer-v-Robinson fight and I couldn't agree with you more. The idiot commentator(they hardly EVER know anything) kept commentating on how Gene's battle-plan was "simple", that he just flared in with two fists. The reason for this misconception(by so-called "experts")...
