Re: Tom Dallas
This isn't meant as criticism, but didn't Dallas as much as say that his main aim was to make as much money from boxing as possible - no harm in that - and that's why he took the Price fight at such short notice. If that's the case it perhaps wasn't that surprising to see him in prizefighter

Re: Prizefighter Reserves?
Saw Darch in the welsh ams a couple of years back when he won it. He was giving away a fair bit of height to Andrew Wyn Jones but just seemed to bully him out of it. He's quite stocky and seemed to have a good dig on him but his technique was pretty wild. Haven't seen him since he's gone pro

Re: Cleverly Had Broken Ribs Heading Into Bellew Fight!
It was a cracked rib, not broken. and regarding the Adam Booth bet, it was 10k and i spoke with George Groves last night who knew nothing about it  ...... Adam Booth was also at the Boxing Writers Dinner but i never had a chance to question if he put the bet on but all the evidence suggests h...

Boxing Sponsorship
Sorry in advance as I'm sure this is a really dull question but I've been wondering how much do people typically spend sponsoring a boxer and what do they hope to get out of it? I'm not talking about big companies sponsoring known fighters, more about small companies who sponsor people just turning ...

Re: Me vs Jason cook
Should be a really good fight
Cook has got a lot of heart, will come to win and can bang. Gavin has got the better skills which will see him through
Should be a great learning fight well done for taking it

Re: Trouble at the Boxing
I imagine it would be quite difficult to shift from reactive to pro-active measures at boxing unlike football. For example in the main football fans travel from one town to another for a match (I appreciate the cockney reds etc are different) so the football intelligence teams can monitor and contro...

Re: Martin Lindsay vs Jamie Arthur
I have to admit I haven't seen any of Arthur's "comeback" fights........can anyone enlighten me as to how he looked versus Bhatia etc? I was at the Bhatia fight and it was a really good domestic match up, Bhatia took most of the early rounds Arthur came on stronger late in the fight. I th...

Taffytoon - how did Justyn Hugh look? About 6 foot, dark hair, a few tattoos and around 13 stone ;;-) I really like Justyn but he just dont seem to have much power and is one dimensional. I would like to see him and Harri Miles fight with the winner fighting Shon Davies for the Welsh light he...

Re: Gavin Rees back at Lightweight
Damian Owen is also a light welter, i'd be very suprised if either came in anywhere near the lightweight limit. Also the Calzaghe's are really struggling, they have no tv and sticking the likes of Rees and Pryce on is very expensive, they are too expensive for small hall shows. I dunno if this 'new...

Craig Evans did look quality, nice combinations and looked good on the ropes. I have to say when Woodhall made the made the comment about having to grow up fast in pontypool i did chuckle, never a truer word spoken.

Re: Maccarinelli vs Lebedev on Khan undercard
Its an interesting fight because isn't Lebedev also a FW fighter? If the roles were reversed and Enzo was the undefeated prospect and Lebedev the former world champ coming off 2 bad losses I'd see it as Warren sacrificing the former world champ. But surely another defeat for Enzo and its curtains?!

He's definitely improving. The lhw division isnt the strongest, my the time he is ready for the big fights you'd assume people like RJJ, Hopkins and Woods will have departed so I can see him winning a world title at some stage.
