Re: Shaq sparring with Oliver McCall
I am not taking Roach seriously. He is hyping Shaq. But...while it's just sparring Shaq looked better than I thought he would.

Re: Heavyweight Boxing’s Ten Greatest Ever Chins
You can't have a top ten chin list without Oliver McCall, and having seen quite a few Marion Wilson fights I am not sure he belongs. I know he was an amazing survivor, but he hugged a lot and wasn't taking clean shots like a Chuvalo. Check out his second fight with Golota to see what I mean. Horribl...

Re: Tex Cobb vs. Shannon Briggs
You mean the 24 year old Briggs who gassed and got KO'd in 3 by Darrol Wilson? Or maybe you mean the 27 year old Briggs who struggled to a draw against Botha? Or maybe you mean the 28 year old Briggs who lost to then 9-9 Sedreck Fields? Or maybe you're talking about the 31 year old Briggs who lost ...

Re: Tex Cobb vs. Shannon Briggs
The Cannon beat George Foreman , while Cobb was stopped by Dee Collier. Briggs by brutal KO in the first round. Do you seriously believe this? If so, this is one of the more bizarre posts I have seen recently. Anyway, back to the serious posters now. I think Cobb takes it. Briggs can't KO him and a...

Toney never blew anyone decent out within 2 rounds. Tiberi outboxed him and Toney did his usual excuse schtick.tennessee wrote:toney was drained from the weight loss. and yes tiberi did win because of that, otherwise dave would of gotten blew out inside 2 rounds.

The classy Dimtrenko should handle Harrison pretty easily. Although, yes, the video was pretty stupid. Klitschko he's not.

Re: Rocky Marciano (1951) vs. George Foreman (1991)...
Marciano. George couldn't hurt Alex Stewart or Tommy Morrison, and remember that the guy that Thunder KO'd in seconds went 12 with him, as did big Lou Savarese. Marciano won't have to run as much as Tommy did so he will be able to land his power shots and he wears George down and beats him to a blo...

Re: Rocky Marciano (1951) vs. George Foreman (1991)...
Rocky obviously wouldn't be running at all. So what does the Morrison fight have to do with anything? He also fought Savarese in 97, Grimsley in 96 & even Morrison was 93. Don't you think that matters? It's pretty evident that the ts is pointing to the Foreman that fought Holyfield. Not the one...

Re: That Eubank Uppercut.
Surely this Skelp is having a little laugh at our expense. But having said that, there are still a surprising number of otherwise functional adult humans that believe Bruce Lee could have killed Ali, Dempsey, Marciano, and probably Emelianenko too, with one of his famouse 6 inch super punches (assum...

Hasim Rahman If glass chinned Oleg could do it twice, Tommy has a good chance in this one. Chris Byrd I think Tommy punches himself out, failing to land anything big, and, exhausted, get's TKO'd Golota Tommy could hurt Golota, and Golota is not a huge puncher. I say Golota falls apart at some point...

"struggled to win on points" in their first fight? It seems like we've met the Sarah Palin of boxrec, you just made that up . . .Tunney won their first fight easily. He also lost the rematch. Tunney took advantage of Dempsey's mistake and got the extra time, but he was NOT knocked out for...

Re: Prime Tommy Morrison v's Wlad Klitschko, who wins and how?
Prime Tommy vs the Wlad who was getting stopped by the likes of Sanders and Brewster;Wlad. Although Tommy in with a punchers chance. Prime vs prime; absolutely no contest. Wlad would simply destroy him. Tommy had stamina as bad or worse than Wlad, overall wasn't a bigger puncher, was smaller, weaker...

Same thing they did to Joe Louis http://www.mackinac.org/22 Be nice if Hearns could bring in a mob of IRS agents who people could then punch for a charitable contribution. Holyfield can't afford to retire and no way he does anytime soon. He wins this fight by UD. And within a few years he will start having trouble remembering his own name.

Re: Hitman Hearns in foreclosure.
This happens a lot to boxers but it happens a lot in football and basketball too. One reason seems to be that these guys spend whatever they earn without giving a thought to the obvious fact that their earning power will diminish as soon as their skills diminish.

Met Micky Ward in a 7-11 a few years ago (he lives the next town over from me). Nice guy, friendly. Peter McNeely came into my old office to use the phone about 10 years ago. He was not looking good but was a pleasant enough fellow.
