It was a good knock but Keeler was in control throughout.
Cummings never stopped trying and got on the front foot in the second half but couldn't alter the bouts dynamic significantly

Re: Frankie Gavin v Kerman Lejarraga
“I’m gutted to say the least,” Gavin explained. “It’s been a nightmare week for me. “I had a disagreement with my trainer that resulted in him deciding against coming out here (to Spain) with me. “We were due to catch the ferry on Sunday, which was an 8-hour crossing and would have meant I would be ...

Some would say Armour should have been jailed years ago - by the fashion police - for that God awful rats tail he used to sport in his fighting pomp.

Haven't seen the fight yet but respect to Askin on getting it done. Thought McCarthy's counter punching would win him the fight.
Where now for the Belfast man? Was he stepped up too soon?

McCarthy is a real talent. An excellent counter puncher.
As long as he can get Askin to lead off he will win handily imo

Re: Gavin Eggington 50 50 WHAT?????
How has Frankie trained for this? Anyone know?
He has recently opened a gym in Acocks Green so clearly has one eye on a career after boxing.
His fitness and mindset will decide how this one pans out IMO

Re: Speaking of the sons of famous fighters....
Joichiro Tatsuyoshi's son, Juiki, turned pro last year and doesn't look like much. Lippe-Morrison looks much better so far than Juiki. First time I have heard Tatsuyoshi's name mentioned in a long time - real blast from the past! I was a big fan of the bad boy of Japanese boxing once upon a time Wa...

Re: R.I.P. Darren Sutherland
I just heard from family freind more details to follow Rip darren 7 years ago today. An amazing talent and truly missed by many. 4-0 with 4 knockouts. Also 4 wins against James Degale in the amateurs. His style was somewhat suited to the pros and could have gone far. 7 years. Wow. Seems like no tim...

Anybody got a link for the tischenko fight? Can't find it online but watched it live and again from my TV hard drive and it's an absolutely stinking decision. If anyone gets an online link please share as I would like to get other people's views on how bad it was. It was 3-0 Levit for me - the wors...

Frankie Gavin fancies Spence by stoppage rnds 6-8
Will be a great result for Spence if he can manage to avoid the Bundu hot sauce and score a stoppage!

Re: Mick Conlan speaks out
If you haven't seen the heavyweight final - with the gold medal on the line - I employee you to seek it out, watch it and tell me that the result wasn't bent. Conlon's fight may look just a bad decision in isolation but when viewed in the context of the cheating that went on in favour of a Russian b...

Re: Mick Conlan speaks out
It wasn't as disgusting a decision as the out and out daylight robbery of Levitt in the heavyweight final but it was still very poor imo.
Conlon boxed the head off him and beat him at his own game.

Levit got jobbed. Simple as. Sit in ring protest anyone?
Levit beat the Russian to a standstill and was far and away the better man who showed how much he wanted it
Would make a good pro.

Re: Olympic hopefuls?
Seen so many people blame the referee and officials in general for Ireland doing badly...as opposed to blaming their fighters. Barnes said he was fighting at the wrong weight-HIS fault, Ward didn't turn up and hold for a full round AFTER having had a point deducted - his fault Even saw this one twi...

Paddy Barnes looked shattered in his loss earlier in the week too. I had Ward nailed on for a medal before this tournament started.Boxing Prospect wrote:Joe Ward got a bye and looked bloody awful, deducted 2 points for holding, looked knackered a round...absolute garbage
