Re: BBBofC: Tyson Fury will NOT be making boxing return in May - ‘He hasn’t contacted us. He’s still suspended’
Interesting that BBBoC steam straight in with public comment on Fury's return to the ring, especially after Fury said he would use a licence from another Board. However, with the footage of a BBBoC licenced trainer, Shane McGuigan, seemingly punching a fan whilst returning to the changing room, ther...

Re: finally cancelled BN subscription
I have not bought BN in a few years, I used to subscribe to it but knocked it on the head with the fencing-sitting and bland editorials, watered down content - i.e. dumbed down guff like 'best tweets', filler and overloaded photos in place of word count etc. Even with a lot of the fight write ups, t...

Re: Boxing Monthly Aug review
Good to hear so many positive comments re: BM - I have been meaning to get around to subscribing to BM again but been so busy with work that it went out of my head, going to subscribe again next month, hopefully, they are still offering some teeshirts or whatnot for new subscribers! I will even take...

Re: Ringside cancelled from this month
It was rubbish - it just made the casual fan even more stupid and uninformed, a smoke screen with editorial line of hyping the fornicate out of a matchroom fighter, when in fact all they had done is beat up a journeyman OR selling a domestic fight card that was being offered as a PPV event. I stoppe...

Re: Shane Mcguigan documentary
Shane might prove to be a good trainer in the long run and good luck to him - but he was handed a gifted fighter who had benefitted tremendously from the hard work done by his amateur trainers and also his first series of fights under Gerry Storey as a pro. If you listened to team McGuigan you would...

Re: Ian John Lewis
There was nothing wrong with that stoppage, he made a good call, he is there to protect the fighter in situations like that. In that case then you would never have a classic bout again, might aswell scrap boxing all together and I will definitely stop watching is this keeps happening. That's quite ...

Lee v Korobov. Even though I have been over a dozen times, it was the first fight I have watched a fight in Vegas. The KO finish and seeing that WBO belt being lofted high by a fellow Irishman fighting in Vegas was brilliant. After the show I walked out of the arena and bumped into Lee with Richard ...

Re: Recommended Autobiographies
One book that I will not be buying is Springs Toledo's book 'Gods of wars' I think its called. I read the review of this book in last month's Boxing Monthly, and they slated it. John Exham (wrong spelling) brilliantly took the piss out of Toledo, who was basically bigging himself up to be a Liebling...

Re: The Boxing News Dilema
If BN is placing itself as a more international boxing magazine, especially the North American market, it would be great to see consistent features (not just fighter features) into Mexican boxing. I was in the States for the Lee-Korobov fight and stayed for a few weeks and noticed the brilliant Box ...

Re: The Boxing News Dilema
What I fail to understand here, and this I think is the real dilemma - what is Boxing News' USP? They were once the 'trade paper' or paper of record for every fight, but they changed that byline a few years ago. They are not a 'news' magazine as they cannot compete with breaking news with the inter...

I wonder what the approximate value of Boxing News is, if they decided to put it on the market? Anyone like to venture an educated guess?

Re: Spoiler. . . . Good old terry!!!
Did I hear right last night. Did Ed Robinson say during the fight that Boxing News had Cleverley up by two rounds after the first six? I thought that was bad enough, but O'Connor to pull out that stinking card giving it to Cleverly by a round was an out and out disgrace. I thought they said cleverl...

The only thing I learned last night that in future I should consider there is an opportunity cost to watching a free stream.

Re: Fair enough Boxing News
It is times like this that I miss Glyn's editorials, he would have drop kicked this nonsensical PPV into touch. I have not read BN in a few years, so cannot comment on them, but when you see BN advertising on the ring posts on Matchroom promotions then their editorial views are even less appealing.
