Re: Chris Byrd vs. Evander Holyfield - 2002
Byrd would have been a difficult opponent for Evander in his prime. Holyfield might have had the best footwork ever as far as being in punching position in the pocket, but cutting off the ring was his weakness.

Re: 2018 boxing hall of fame class
Even the Lewis fight wasn't ideal timing, iirc he was a short-notice replacement, before his prime and Lennox was past his prime by a good few years. Vitali showed his calibre in that fight and had the 2 of them met in their primes it would have been a proper heavyweight megafight imo. Would make L...

Right, his brother faced the best of a weak era. Vitali didn't even do that. The two notable fighters he did fight, beat him. Though Lewis was a good loss.

Re: 2018 boxing hall of fame class
Vitali haters gonna be so butthurt that he's a first ballot hall of famer! Suck it! :OhYes: :OhYes: :OhYes: I don't get all the hate, Vitali deserved it. So did Morales. Wright was a mild reach, but not a bad pick. Obviously morales did. Why did vitali? Who did he beat? Winky is much more qualified.

Re: Lennox Lewis: Best Win?
Ruddock - Yes, I know Ruddock was one dimensional & overrated, but no-one was saying that at the time. Everyone thought he was the most dangerous HW on the planet & even Riddick Bowe made sure that he avoided Razor, thus meaning Lewis had to face him. Lewis decimated Ruddock without even br...

It was a very good fight. Anybody still bitching about the match up needs to move on to their next complaint.

Disgraceful that vitali made it, Erik was a surefire first ballot. I think others were more deserving than winky but he isn't without merit. Move over gatti, vitali now the gets the worst resume in the Hof by miles.

Rocky lockridge was not from new jersey. His career was based in McAfee, NJ. That's where he made his career with trainer Lou Duva. In the Eusebio Pedroza fight, the crowd was strictly Rocky Lockridge's. Lockridge is from Washington. Can't you read your own posts? Are you on a mission to be the big...

You are acting as if a grappling first attack from him ensures victory. He has never shown to be that kind of grappler. Not easy to change styles after all of this years of training, damn near impossible.

Not to mention poirier. Conor is quite underrated. Close to top 10 all time.Impractical Poster wrote: ↑03 Dec 2017, 11:21It was for sure.
I know it isn't going to happen, but I'd like to see a Conor/Max rematch. I think Max is a lot better since their first meeting.

He's not good enough. Beating Faber and mendez is a far cry from Conor and Max. Edgar is right in the middle, that's Aldo's best work.

Re: Cotto; Farewell to THE Most Overrated Boxer in History
Who is that "most" picking Ali ? Any names/quotes ? Most thought that this was a cherry pick by Cotto dragging an opponent from a lower weight class. You're highly confused. Am I also confused about Cotto having been -1000 betting favorite? Yes, I won quite a bit on cotto as a big underdog.
