Maybe they did?..... I met Tom Collins once when he was working security at the old Seacroft Centre in Leeds

At one point he went on a winning run of just over 100 fights, with a couple of no contests.

The first name that comes to my mind is Tom Collins, although to be fair he won his fair share of belts.

Re: Brits Who Looked Like A World Beater, But Never Made It.
I was quietly expectant about Cliffton Mitchell, thought he might have worked his way into world class.... Then he took that James Oyebola right hand.

I'm surprised Bruno hasn't been mentioned!!... His hitting & holding, and rabbit punching was dreadful, and he always Seemed to get away with it.

Robert Dickie, former British Featherweight champ, good fighter at domestic level, and carried some power, unfortunately cut easily.

Re: Tyson Fury β¦ how good is he?
With his size and skill set he's certainly a match for any heavyweight in history, he'd be in with a shout against anyone... But I agree with the previous post about "what actually happens on the night", and obviously that's impossible to tell with any serious accuracy.

Re: Conor Benn vs. Jose Ramirez - 9 July 2022?
I think Benn is coming along nicely, and has come on leaps and bounds since he was hitting the canvas against that French bloke a few years ago, if the fight happens then hats off to him, if he wins then brilliant

Re: Deontay Wilder - is BACK
It will be good to see him back, I'd be interested to see him fight anyone in the top ten or fifteen.... If he does fight the winner of Bryan vs Dubois (dubois will slaughter Bryan) that would be a great start.

Re: Fighters you were wrong about
Yeah gotta hold my hands up about Fury and Price..... I though Price was a dead cert champ of the future as long as the rumours about his chin weren't true, and I thought fury was gonna get stretched out in spectacular fashion when he stepped up to championship level.... Funny old game.

Re: Cruiser weights that failed at heavyweight?
Glen Mccrory, turned pro at heavy with a string of wins before the wheels came off in spectacular fashion.... Dropped to cruiser, and went on a winning run, culminating in the IBF world title, moved back to heavyweight, and got crushed by Lennox.
