Re: What happened to that Junior Saba/Benjamin kid?

He was not just a gym fighter. He could not get licensed.

We took this over a year ago and after around 9 months he got approved for his license.

He is trained by Xavier Miller at IQ in Neasden and makes his debut on September 8th at York Hall.

Re: Duke Micah v Matt Chanda

Micah won 95 from 100 amateur bouts and competed at the Olympics in 2012. Chanda is Southern Area champion was not a distinguished amateur but much more suited to the pro game.

Re: Goodwin Boxing launch new boxing competition

Maybe better if both semis on same night. Hopefully TV can buy into this...Dave?? In future this will be the plan. We only got the go ahead from the board this week and Karl Wheeler would not have been ready for September. We are currently adding new sponsors. The prizemoney is already at an accept...

Re: Stephen Goodwin

BBBoC should be looking at this. Absolutely disgraceful when people are getting nothing for their hard-earned in situations like this. It happens virtually every show including TV ones when a home fighter pulls off and the away fighter does not fight. I cannot say anymore than I have so I wont comm...

Steve Wood is Shayne's manager. You need to ask him this question

Re: Stephen Goodwin

A ten rounder could quite easily have become a six rounder under the circumstances, and I think Singleton and his fans would have taken that. The least you could have done under the circumstances. It's not your promotion but you've been asked to provide an undercard. If you didn't feel duty-bound t...

Re: Stephen Goodwin

Couldn't you have found someone to replace O'Donnell with Steve ? To give Singleton's fans a show ? London- it's your manor. I think you could have stepped in here ! We were not the promoter of the event and not our decision. This is January when Championship level boxers are not in full training a...

He pulled out with the flu on Wednesday lunchtime. I immediately rang Shayne's manager Steve Wood and put him in the picture.

Re: Stephen Goodwin

I was not the promoter of the event. Our job was to match the undercard. We had no financial interest in the promotion. Shaynes manager Steve Wood is fully aware of this and has no issue with me. O'Donnell was our fighter and this fight was made when the origianl undercard fighter Billy Dib puppled ...

Delighted to confirm we have added to the undercard for the David Haye show at the O2 16th January -

British Welterweight title eliminator for John O'Donnell (30-2) v Shayne Singleton (21-1) on 16th January

Great fight

Re: Haye Day undercard.

It might be the undoing of Goodwin - he's tied to too many of his words. Don't know that much about him but I see bits on here & Twitter about the number of sell out shows he does in York Hall & saw he was rated in some blog as the no 3 promoter in the country  Fair play to him for get...

Not seen much of him to be honest but in terms of the British title he has some really strong competition and if Blackledge hangs onto the Commonwealth then that's a big ask also. He isn't getting any younger is he? I think blackledge Is a winnable fight for him I think that's a good fight I think ...

Re: Jones Jnr not turning up for Moran fight cost promoter...

Are there other examples like this where a promoter has paid a boxer a deposit of sorts? I paid Audley Harrison a deposit before he came to fight Ali Adams in 2012. I would be sceptical about paying deposits generally but Audley is very ethical financially and contractually so it did not worry me. ...

Re: Journeymen from Eastern Europe

I can't understand why boys turn pro if they are not prepared to fight away. How do they make any money? Johnny Greaves must have earned far more than most,so called, prospects. I assume that most lads who turn over do so with a romantic notion that their manager/promoter will get them fights and t...

Re: Journeymen from Eastern Europe

I agree its a problem but what do you do when there are no other options. Thats the problem. We cannot have perfection. We do the best with the situations we have. You will see from our shows (Oct 17th especially) we will invest money and stage the bigger fights but boxers have to learn their trade ...
