Re: Mike Tyson - a big example of great marketing and hype

He fought in a weak era , went 12 rounds against guys like Tillis, Green, Smith and Tucker who I think is Tyson's best win. When he faced better competition, he got knocked out. And his fanboys should stop with th...

Re: Is boxing the most corrupt sport in the world?

LOADS of Boxing people have stated it... but often those statements are down played if not liked by Partisan Parties, who will pass them off as hearsay, marginalize them or just straight out Blank them. Until same such statements are needed for them. That is why you need to have the REPORTS, but of ...

Hello BOXREC, (amended Points) the Ratings have always been a point of contention, in the past the scoring systems always had Huge Gaps between Fighters, including at the Top, now (generally speaking), most fighters are inaccurately low, even among Top Fighters. there has always been far, far too ma...

Re: a BoxRec Ratings system idea...

this is just a Template, it can be adjusted, i.e. Single Digit Points for Title Fights, National - Lineal, can be built up in Single Digits rather than double digits perhaps going too high, But the prescribed template accounts for ALL Fights, fighters more considered and Boxing History better compli...

Second only to Figure Skating... Of Course it IS, and it always has been. a terrible insult too Fans, Fighters and History alike. Shame too, so many deflated Young men, some Mother's Son(s). Worse however, are the Ones Who DO IT, Assist it, Support it, Cover it up and Deny it - Devious Pricks really.

Re: What effect did World War 2 have on boxing?

Titles Frozen Up certainly affected the game, not all divisions moved as freely as others, which in some cases would have been down to the Money Men - Promoters, Managers and Investors. Countries too, Europe for example was hit heavier than the US. so that's a factor. and then there would have been ...

Hi banjo, yeah that book is pretty poor, could have offered so much, that's what new books are supposed to do. naw, I don't think Mills was shot, but there was definitely some Ring factors and external factors affecting him. he should't have been fighting Baksi, Woodcock and London, quite simply for...

Re: Why is Sugar Ray Robinson to you the Greatest Pound Per Pound Fighter of All-time?

25 years, over 200 fights, nearly all wins,

many of them years at the TOP and/or among the Top

Boxer 1st class,
KO Punchers,
Athletic,
Stylish,
Durable,
many great wins

'HIS' TOP 10 over the years reads as good as many Top 10 lists in general. that's quite remarkable all in.

Bobby Lees and Jock Lees are probably the same fighter for Bert here.

the Johhny McKay fights on Gilroy's record is also inaccurate too, it is one and the same fight with no record for another as yet found.

Fair enough, but it's just Circles, the Reports are there, they can all be checked from 13 years of Ratings, to dozens of Reports about Gilroy being the Official Title Challenger, Reports of Bert being Passed Over, Reports of Robbed decisions and on and on and on. Fair enough Miles but the Written H...
