A bit like the stadium being half full? I referring to opponents not ticket sales. As I said before - when Mayweather v McGregor is the highest grossing boxing event .. it tells you that today it more about celebrity than anything else. Fury is very much a celebrity now and acts accordingly. Tone, ...

Exactly 👍

This isn't about boxing - it's about celebrity.

If one of the highest grossing 'fights' was Mayweather v McGregor .. then that tells you what shite sells.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Derek Chisora III | BT PPV - 3 December 2022

The multi-millionaire Chisora is stretching it a bit when he said - "He gave me a phone call and put food on my kids' table," - regarding Fury arranging the glorified sparring session between them both this weekend. As a person already worth a few million quid I don`t think there was any c...

Re: Is Anthony Joshua Being Written Off Too Soon?

Joshua appeared keen to fight Fury when he was called out - whether that was because he knew Fury had already lined up Chisora and was just making Fury look even more full of [email protected] we'll never know.

But fighting a lesser known contender will be the acid test of his motivation.

He got stopped by a late replacement, then completely changed his style to win the rematch. Then he lost back to back decisions against one of the best pound for pound boxers in the world. Whyte should retire, he's done. Unbelievable regression from the guy who beat povetkin. Povetkin was done when Whyte beat him. Just watched the show. Clear Whyte is barely running on fumes nowadays ... there were signs before Povetkin 1 that Whyte was declining .. Povetkin both showed that to be tr...

Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Liam Smith - 17 December 2022?

I too leaning towards Smith. I think boxing ability is the deciding factor rather than sheer toughness here. Liam Williams was able to outbox Eubank - when he wasn't being put on the canvas - there's been lots of explanations why he was so fragile that night, and none of them should be a factor for ...

It makes you wonder where boxing will be in 10yrs time.
The end of boxing has been predicted as imminent since the 1950s when TV took off .. however now it seems to have really boxed itself into such a niche it's unable to feed itself to grow

That was a very interesting interview. TG was very respectful and ensured he was regularly blowing smoke up Fury's arse to try keep him onside. But Fury seemed unhappy to be interviewed from the beginning - despite saying he didn't want to discuss Hearn/Joshua he rambled on about them. I think Fury ...

Yep. Tommy Hearns couldn't crack an egg as an amateur Makes you wonder if Tommy switched to a wild boar diet after turning pro. Ha.
