Re: Andy Lee fights friday night.
King Geedorah just cut out the anti-irish comments. That ain't that difficult :-? Then nobody can take offence :TU: They're not strictly anti-Irish are they? If I said that the Welsh have a right cross to bear living next to the English then I'd be lauded. Or if I made a joke about lobster-skinned ...

Interesting point, we'll discuss that one further next time we're both at an event. Anytime, you and McNeilly together if you want. Just dont bring the little lady along to witness it - she'll never look at you the same again. Good. See you in September. I made a remark earlier in the thread and th...

Re: Andy Lee fights friday night.
In retirement after winning British, Commonwealth and European titles. Oh, he also won an Irish title, which is all Andy's won to date. So where is Jamie Moore now? Sitting pretty and well ahead of Andy in terms of titles and pro achievements. I was replying to Autobarn who was comparing styles, im...

thought you liked guys who fight at a sedate, soothing pace... re the healy fight - i much prefer jamie moore's destruction of him, tearing into the man with nasty body shots and uppercuts. no faffing around, was there? lee, meanwhile... Re: Andy Lee fights friday night.
if Lee was promoted by a certain top British promoter, and had taken this fight, he would be drowned in criticism on here. Like Barker was "drowned in criticism on here" for fighting Belgacham for the EUROPEAN title immediately after Lee had battered him around the ring for over 9 rounds!...

Re: Andy Lee fights friday night.
What's worrying is that the Lee fans not only swallow it, they leap to it's defence. It'd be far more refreshing for one to say 'No excuses, it's an appalling waste of time. Lee should really forget about this as it tarnishes him, fighting all these no-marks'. How on earth this fight will better Le...

Re: Andy Lee fights friday night.
Kelly, I never said that you defended Lee, or other Irish fighters, just for the sake that they're Irish. In fact, I've never seen you post before today before. But on the whole, Irish fight fans tend to irrationally defend Irish fighters. It happens all the time here on Boxrec. I've read numerous ...

Re: Andy Lee fights friday night.
Sorry, are you having a conversation with yourself here? Where do I say he made these comments because Lee is Irish? It's a meaningless fight but don't use that as an excuse to crap all over Lee just because you don't happen to rate or like him which Beenie clearly doesn't, no need to write a mock ...

Re: Andy Lee fights friday night.
I disagree, completely. In boxing, boxers who fight less-gifted fighters as the norm deserve unenthusiastic and scornful comments. It's nothing to do with him being Irish, but the Irish on this forum seem to have a bag of chips on their shoulders thinking he's being lambasted because he's Irish. It...

I would say that over 90% of this sub-forum enjoy reading what Bennie has to say, and I would also say that he's spot-on over 90% of the time with his posts, too. I tend to agree with him regarding Andy Lee as well. He's definitely not "troll-like." Intead of simply stating that it's a cr...

Re: Frampton and Casey in Belfast and McGuigan gets TV deal
Just watched the clip and thought Frampton was in blue, was just about to say he looks poor until I realised he was actually the one dishing the punishment. You have got a good little fighter. Nice and compact with a lovely hook. Him and Quigg in the future? Fireworks. well Frampton wants the Briti...

Re: Andy Lee fights friday night.
Once-beaten Andy Lee ticks over in a nothing eight-rounder with Missouri's James Cook in Oklahoma later this week (Friday). The big southpaw from Limerick, who fights out of America, is still rebuilding from a disastrous seven-round pounding at the hands of Contender failure Brian Vera in Connectic...

I can understand why he wants to do this now but how will it affect him when he decides to turn pro in this country? Thats unless the switch to the pakistan team is a cagey first move by khan to break into the highly lucrative pakistani pro boxing market. The knuckle scraping footie fans will never...

munroe and barker do get some flak on here. more so than most european champions. That's because they are both average, not because they are English. I have yet to see Munroe put on a convincing performance, but we all should say he's great so as not to upset the English posters? Give me a break! A...

Re: Is fighters and their mates posting good for the forum??
It doesn't make a difference, everyone is biased to a certain degree, like those idiots who still try to defend Haye. I'm sure they are not his mates but they will stick up for him as if they were. You are never going to have a non biased boxing forum.

Re: Sergio Martinez vs Brits
I f you watch the last round of the belgecham fight, Lee is out on his feet in the closing seconds and almost gets done. Vera is not a power puncher but stopped Lee. In that fight he also showed stamina issues. I am running off facts here guys. As for sparring with Wladdy... well its only sparring....

Re: Sergio Martinez vs Brits
He was stopped on his feet while still throwing punches, that's hardly a demolision job. So who's ahead of him in Ireland? The reality of the situation is, he is a very talented fighter with a lot of potential and again, he's never even been put down nevermind flattened. Im not being harsh mate. I'...
