Re: would fury vs aj next be the biggest british fight ever?

Two Brits as the No 1 and 2 in the world, - check. (almost all) the belts - check. Lineal "people's champ" vs Unified Champ and No1 - check. At heavyweight !! Of course it is - It's the biggest fight since Ali vs Frazier 1. It's one of the biggest HW fights in history - easily the biggest...

Re: would fury vs aj next be the biggest british fight ever?

AJ v Fury feels bigger AJ v Wilder. Deontay saw his stock fall and Furys rise in abundance when Tyson got up in the 12th. He is now the man who cant be stopped (though he probably can be). Plus Fury's recent story and conduct after the final bell makes him a lot more marketable. And his inevitable ...

Re: Khan v Crawford

fair play to Khan for wanting the fight but he's got no business being in the ring with Crawford. This. I couldn't see Khan making it through a fight with a top boxer without giftwrapping him something with a bow on top. He's fearless, or foolhardy. He seems to have a very hard nose for "busin...

Re: .....getting up.....

I expected a concussive blow from the radio commentary and subsequent fall out... however, it was less than I was expecting. Kind of smashed him as he was already falling back. I think that fall took the decisive power out of it.

Re: Refreshing to have a real fight week.

Totally agree with the OP. The whole week seemed old school and the coverage was aimed at real fans of boxing not twice a year fans who enjoy Buffer and Sweet Caroline as much as the fight. Everything was perfect, great tv build up - tris dixon’s intelligent character profiles of both fighters, Woo...

Re: What is Anthony Joshua thinking today?

I assume the draw wasn’t included in the rematch agreement? If Hearn wants to be slick he nips in now and makes a huge offer to one of them for the Wembley date. AJ should be demanding that after last night, Fvck letting things stew any longer, get it done. If that fight was a draw then presumably ...

5 Live excellent last night, again.

Credit where it's due. They were excellent last night. I managed to navigate my way out of my peripheral vision straight to a replay of the full fight when I woke up - without spoilers! I never thought that would be possible! They are consistently and reliably there for the biggest fights and...

Re: 6 Years Ago Today (30th Nov 2012): Freddie Flintoff Made His Pro Debut!

I've looked up this bill and it turns out it was headed by Denton Vassell vs. Ronnie Heffron in a Commonwealth title fight, won by Vassell. Vassell went on to lose to Frankie Gavin, by TKO, in his next fight the following year. He boxed for something called the Central Area super-welterweight title ...

Words. If he follows through, great. Agreed. Why would you make a public comment like that if you weren't intending to go through with it? I'm not saying he will go through with it, but why set yourself up for ridicule and abuse if you change your mind? Because words are like sh!tting or p!ssing fo...

Re: Is it so far fetched for Fury to stop Wilder?

I can actually see Fury employing the upper-cut and stopping him. I'm on record elsewhere as saying that Wilder will be too fit for him and is bound to hit him, but Fury can pull something clever out the bag. It might earn him a draw if he manages to stop Wilder... If he stops Wilder he could get a...

That was an honest enough first effort. First time I'd seen it (tho it was so forgettable, I could be wrong there...). Didn't he just have one and pack it in?

This can’t be serious surely. It does rather seem to dispense with the notion that boxers have 'best before' dates, doesn't it? I mean, where do you stop? Should they just go on and on? :maybe: I don't buy into this "all I've ever known...all I can do BS" - Go and reinvent yourself, get a...

For posterity, here is a clip of Smith confirming that ‘Bomber’ was not a reference to an actual bombing: https://streamable.com/plr7f Goodness gracious me. What an absolute pillock. That's sounds to me as if he's set out from the start to work in a completely unrelated to the task at hand comment,...

For me, even though I only listened on the radio, I thought Bellew's draw against the Welshman was a highly creditable result. I never expected it. I think Cleverly was pre-Kovalev at that time, and to me he looked almost like an immovable object. Very tough man to beat on his night. It wasn't a dr...

Bellews balls have been that big that they are now by his knees, so technically he’s not too exposed. I exaggerated. 🎣 "Exposed"? You like him very much. I get that. :TU: I can relate mate, plus I'm showing my respect for a man who gave his blood & consciousness for our entertainment....
