Re: Round-by-Round: Moses Itauma vs. Filip Hrgovic - 29 August 2026
I have to say I feel a bit smug about the new highly touted golden goose losing like this, because as a German living in the UK I am getting mighty sick about how little credit the media is giving the other guys here. Boxing, football, all the same. I may be true that apart from experience and stami...

Re: Fury Chin ... Rank it
I would give Fury an above average chin. He has been clocked by several fighters and knocked down by overhand rights over the years but not been too impressed by most and as other posters have pointed out, his recovery is insane. He looked like he was knocked into next week by Wilder in the 12th rou...

Re: Hw Bryant Jennings comeback
That's the good thing about low expectations. But seriously man, how exciting Wlad and Vitali were at the start of their careers. Seemingly invincible though a bit robotic destroying machines. Then injuries plague Vitali and Wladimir either gasses out or his dangerous, aggressive style gets him knoc...

Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Zhilei Zhang | PPV - June 1, 2024
I pick Wilder by knockout. I wouldn't put money on that though. Somewhere in my wishful thinking an awkwardly arm flailing Wilder lands a haymaker on Zhang and knocks him out before he gasses out and Zhang, who is rather slow with his output can then pick his shots and knock him out anywhere after t...

Re: Hw Bryant Jennings comeback
I have to admit that I don't remember Jennings much for his achievements other than knocking out Dimitrenko. I do remember however what a terrible fight his bout against Klitschko was, who seemed to have aged 100 years over night and couldn't pull his punches, only jabbing and clinching way too much...

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk | PPV - May 18, 2024
I'm pretty happy that Usyk won this. You can say about Fury what you want and I haven't been the greatest fan of him due to his antics and sometimes very unpleasant style, but he can use his weight, height and adapt styles if needed. Seeing him bullied around the Ring by Usyk makes this performance ...

Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Oleksandr Usyk - September 25, 2021
If AJ fights smart - but ugly - he'll try to sap some of Usyks energy out of him, tying him up, leaning on him, hoping that he'll fatigue, though that may be a gamble as he seems very well conditioned. Other than that, I don't think Usyk packs enough of a punch to put AJ in trouble, AJ on the other ...

Re: Shannon Briggs vs. “Rampage” Jackson
I still regard Briggs vs Vitali Klitschko the worst one sided beating I have ever seen a boxer receive. Well, if he thinks he still has enough brain cells left to get knocked out of his head, go ahead Shannon!
It will be my pleasure to not watch it happen and read about it later.

Re: Top Heavyweight Prospect Parker KOd Dimitrenko Saturday
Dimitrenko is a typical product of German boxing promotions of the last 20 years. He was one of the guys they tried to hype up as one of the next big things after the Klitschkos on German television. But then again, Universum Box Promotions tried that with every guy coming along that kept a clean re...

Re: fury vs. wlad who do you have?
Even as a long time Wladimir nuthugger who followed him since the very early fights on German TV I just cannot see Wladimir regaining the title. When he looked like crap against Jennings I said he was on the way out, but I didn't expect the fight against Fury to be that terrible. I blamed both of hi...

Re: Dereck Chisora vs. Kubrat Pulev - May 7th 2016
Man I couldn't be arsed watching the fight in the pub as I didn't expect Chisora to have a chance and didn't expect a knockout from either and I was right about that.
Still, hearing that there was one obscenely scorecard makes me want to watch it just to see how far off that judges call was.

Re: Did Helenius fight Duhaupas tonight?
After that terrible performance against Chisiora I never thought Helenius would go all the way to the top, even though I have to admit that after his impressive streak against former world champions I bought into the hype. I mean credit where credit is due, flatfoot Sam Peter never went down easy, B...

Re: Heavyweight Christian Hammer KTFO Sprott in Romania Friday
I loved Sprotts ability to upset hyped opponents on a domestic and European level, he exposed quite a few German based boxers with padded records during his time. Plus he managed to squeeze a win over higher rated British boxers every now and then too plus his, was it two wins at the prizefighter to...

Re: If Wilder puts on a clinic on Povetkin
Povetkin is a natural brawler. Klitschko avoided the brawl and took him apart. Against lesser opponents Povetkins head down charge eventually knocked them on their asses. Though when you say lesser opponent, look at his last 10 fights or so back to when he first claimed the WBA title from Chagaev, t...

Re: Luis Ortiz is the best heavyweight in the world
Yeah, I don't know man, Shannon Briggs defeating 6 tomato cans in 2014 really didn't mean much besides that he wasn't taking it slowly. I give Ortiz props though for the first defense against Jennings, a defense within 2 months of winning a title - even if it's just the WBA interim - has not been se...

Re: will there be a tyson-wlad II?
I said before that after his surprisingly good performance against Pulev the Jennings fights demonstrated that Wlad was on the way out. His performance against Fury was just bizarre. I didn't follow any news so I don't know what the hold up is about the rematch but the last 2 fights have shown that ...

Are you mixing up Russian/Eastern European fighters here? Dimitrenko has fought tomato cans only since Pulev knocked him out.RandomUsername wrote:Ohhh man, Alexander Dimitrenko would Kill this fellow. I mean Dimitrenko would really put a hurting on this fellow Ortis it would be a slaughter.

Re: Ruslan Chagaev vs. Lucas Browne on March 5 in Grozny
Just finished watching fight on Youtube. Chagaev could have finished this fight early had he been in better shape I think. I was for Big Daddy as he is genuine nice character. He had guts, came to fight and got a lucky punch and an okay stoppage in the end. Chagaevs defense absorbed most of it, but ...

Re: Klitschko-Fury November 28 in Dusseldorf, Germany
Man after the lackluster performance against Jennings I did say that Wladimir is on the way out, but a shitfest like this, I did not see that coming. He looked so good against Pulev last year, I couldn't believe the Jennings fight after this, was just as if he got old between fights. Or to be more a...

Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Johann Duhaupas
A lot of the debate about Wilder boils down to the lack of a true heavyweight champion hailing from the USA in a long time imo. This has been going on for a while, the last dominating American Heavyweight when it comes to length of reign was Larry Holmes, people forget that while Tyson was a very ac...

Fightnews has been hyping this fight that the untrained reader could think this wasn't in fact yet another completely meaningless tomato can fight for Briggs. It's beyond me that he is ranked at the No. 5 stop with the WBO. Briggs will always be in my memory not for his short reign as WBO champion b...

Re: Ruslan Chagaev V Lucas Browne
First of all, Browne needs to fight him outside of Russia or Germany if he thinks it might go to the scorecards. Other than that years ago Chagaev was a solid fighter and got some good wins under his belt though a lot of them were close decisions. These days I'm not so sure, he barely made it past O...

Re: Odlanier Solis v Tony Thompson II
Man, Solis looked like a journeyman. Too heavy, too small, not busy enough, could slip some punches but in total he looked miles away from someone who won the gold medal the the Olympics. I am not surprised his promoter lost his nerves and trashed him after the fight, his reaction in the ring is pri...

Re: Fury vs Chisora 2 card - RBR
Vitali beat Chisiora easily with one arm, before his left arm was injured he had countered him beautifully with it every time he came in and would have gotten a stoppage. That Vitali won most rounds with just the right arm is all I ever needed to know about Chisiora, especially with his wannabe thug...
