Somewhat ironically, your statement is untrue. It's the sort of thing school teachers at the end of their tether say when they can't find out who was smoking in the toilets.

His silver in 2001 was a excellent achievement. Not to be overlooked.

I was away during his cruiserweight innings, think Thompson was the last fight I saw before Klitschko and I've not looked back.

Anyone who has been to court in any capacity other than as one of the legal bods - and even then it's not a given - will appreciate that you very seldom come out looking good even when you are wholly innocent. It's a crappy place to be and not somewhere you want to end up if you can at all help it....

Re: Seems like Wilder and Fury may not fight again

Fury will fight Joshua twice next year. In spring and December. His opponent this December will be better than most people expect. Tyson is fit and ready to go but clearly doesn't want to jeopardize his pension pot. Expect a strong, brave and durable opponent rather than explosive and skilful.

Disagree. It gives those supporters who would have gone to the matches in-person an option they can take if they want to.

He has to pay the £14.95? Why does he have to? That seems unfair. Who is demanding he pays?

Re: Dave Allen Vs Christian Hammer

Dave allen is like the heavyweight version of paul smith. Underserved opportunity after undeserved opportunity. Strange isn't it? Wonder if the likes of smigga were/are prepared to fight for well under the going rate. Paul was a very good fighter, better than he looked but I agree that he got more ...

Re: Why is there a difference in UFC weight classes?

Let's say I am 5 ft 11'1⁄2 (1.82 cm) height, and 176 lbs (80 kg) weight. In UFC middleweight , it's between 170 lbs (77 kg) - 185 lbs (83 kg). In boxing middleweight , it's between 154 lb (70 kg) - 160 lb (73 kg). So I would be a middleweight in UFC. But in boxing, I am passing two weight classes; ...

Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Derek Chisora - 31 October 2020

Not much, as you know. But, again, women tennis players get as much as the blokes now, don't they? They do in (I think) all of the slams (I can’t remember if the French has made it equal) but they don’t at the smaller tournaments. The prize money at a mid tier women’s tournament is much lower than ...

Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Derek Chisora - 31 October 2020

For women's boxing not to be a lowly standard, the size of the talent pool needs to increase. That will only happen, if at all, by promoting women's boxing. We should think long-headed on this one and give it time. Women's tennis was probably not too good once upon a time.

Tyson with Cus/Rooney and without those bad distractions he had vs Holyfield in 1987-1988 would've answered how good Tyson was. But unfortunately bad things happen. Cus/Rooney did great with the man-child junior Olympian and when Tyson was knocking out stiffs but the idea that had they been able to...

Boxing is not bigger as a whole no. But Fury vs Joshua is a bigger fight than Lewis vs Bruno. I don't believe it is a bigger fight in the UK in terms of general public awareness and interest. I know you are American, it is a bigger fight for you chaps. No doubt. I am sure it’s bigger here. You may ...

Can't speak for any other man... For me: 70s and 80s there was only boxing and Judo. Of the two boxing was way ahead for me. 90 to 96 boxing was king 97 to 07 it was mma (Pride FC was great). 07 to 20 a gradual decline in interest in both. I follow the UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight divisions...

Re: Why is there a difference in UFC weight classes?

UFC weight divisions are great, including 265lb limit. Someone 290lbs could cut to 265lbs. There's nobody on Earth (clean) weighing more than that who is in shape to fight a hard 5 x 5'.

Re: Lewis-Bruno vs. Joshua-Fury : “Best of BrItish”

Less than 2% of the UK had a Sky dish in 1993, and the man in the street barely knew who Lennox Lewis was. It was Team Lewis who wanted it staged in Cardiff, because they felt London would give Bruno the hometown advantage, and they also wanted to avoid the ignominy of Lewis being booed in Britain,...

Yes. There were too many and some of the fighters chosen to participate were all wrong for the format.

Bring it back twice a year. Only chinny bangers need apply.
