Re: Showtime to only show PPV from 2024?

In America, Cable Television and Satellite Television as a whole is beginning to fade away. So with it goes the channels. With the channels goes the programming. This doesn't mean the coverage of the sport ends. It just means it relocates. But yeah...the relocation has definitely caused me to see a ...

Re: Big Bang Zhang is the man to beat

Zhang looked great against Joyce, but everybody ain't Joyce. Joyce is one of the slowest and easiest to hit guys with the credentials he has. Everyone else Zhang would be fighting would be significantly quicker, and with the exception of maybe Wilder, most of 'em at the top would be more skilled tha...

for 3 rounds zhang is a top 3 heavy, offensively a bit of a monster while he's got stamina. brutal loss for joyce usyk is a globe trotter, how about a trip to china to fight zhang since fury needs half a billion to make the undisputed happen It would be a huge, globally significant bout. It'd be a ...

Yep Joyce still has this and Dillian Whyte if nothing else. I could see them getting some fairly big interest for those fights still, and I can see all parties involved the fighters and promoters being game to do it.

Re: Round-by-Round: Zhilei Zhang vs. Joe Joyce II | TNT Sports - 23 September 2023

Career ended I don't know if it's the end of Joyce's career full stop, but it's definitely the end of his aspirations of competing at the World Level. Best he could set his sights on now is British Champion I'd think. I don't even see European Champion in him, but he could be British Champion. Noth...

zhang is a bad man. if you reveres that hrgovic decision like many do he is on a tear. Shame he is so old, i wanna see him with everyone. AJ vs zhang, Wilder vs zhang, usyk vs zhang, fury vs zhang. If he gets a shot at the World Title, I know he'd be the first Chinese man ever to fight for the Heav...

For seat comparison I have a decent seat for £75 compared to what you get at the O2 for example for same price. https://i.postimg.cc/qvd80jKT/IMG-20230923-212843-SR.jpg Not a fantastic atmosphere though hopefully when main event comes and Sweet Caroline is blasted out Small looking ring. Re: Adonis Stevenson vs. Glen Johnson at 175

If you're gonna have it, make it interesting. Glen in 2010 is not Glen at his best. You maybe right. But Glen was considered old even in 2004, when he was going into RJJ fight. I'd say, Glen was pretty damn decent up till the Froch fight. He gave prime Chad Dawson all he could handle in 2008-2009. ...

Re: Zhilei Zhang vs. Joe Joyce II | TNT Sport - 23 September 2023

The last time these guys fought the speed, and accuracy difference was so overwhelmingly different...I don't see Joyce overcoming that. It's not as if Zhang is small, and likely to be overwhelmed by Joyce just because he's added some weight. If anything Joyce may just be even slower, and catch even ...

Re: "Bad" Bennie Briscoe vs. Roberto Duran

The Duran that could come within a point of beating Hagler could probably get over on Bennie 9 rounds to 6 I'd imagine. Great fight. Bennie ain't give it to him, but I think he's the kinda fighter Duran could've gotten the better of. Even giving away size. At least the very best Duran at Middleweight.

Re: Canelo vs. James Toney

At 160 Canelo might take it, but I think 168 at least when Toney first got there was a good weight for him.

Neither of 'em had much of a career at 175, but I'd probably favor Toney there too. I personally thought he was robbed in the Montell Griffin fights. Especially the 2nd one.

Re: Gilberto Ramirez vs. Joe Smith | DAZN - October 7, 2023

I like this matchmaking a lot. Ramirez a talented, but protected fighter vs Joe Smith who's been anything but protected. Smith isn't an Elite Technical Boxer, just a steady attacking, good old fashioned tough son of a bitch.

He'll give Zurdo all he wants, and maybe more than he wants.

I don't think anybody is gonna be too upset if he never fights those guys. They wouldn't have a chance, and we all know that.

Re: Jimmy Young versus Lennox Lewis

If Shavers could do it, Lennox could do it. Lennox is a much better all around fighter than Shavers was, and would be patient enough to bide his time. He wouldn't be looking for the quick KO, he'd be content to outbox Young and let it come when it comes.

scorpio83 wrote: 12 Sep 2023, 11:15 I've already post this subject before and I said this again, Lewis knocking out the prime Jimmy Young would be impossible because Young was slick and elusive, but Lewis would use his long left jabs and big right hands to outbox Young to take a decision.
Earnie Shavers knocked him out twice.
