ARGUELLO VS PRYOR 1
ES POSIBLE QUE EL LICOR DE MENTA Y LAS CAPSULAS DE AMONIA DEN A UN BOXEADOR MAS ENERGIA? EN LA PELEA DE MIAMI ENTRE AARON PRYOR Y ALEXIS ARGUELLO ENTRE LOS ROUNDS 13 Y 14 LA ESQUINA DE PRYOR LE DIO A TOMAR A SU BOXEADOR UNA SUSTANCIA QUE CONTENIA LICOR DE MENTA. PRYOR SALIO DE SU ESQUINA COMO UN HUR...

gensu3k1, exactly! :TU: Dempseyfire, you mention sportswriters from that era commenting on WIllard's jab. Have you read what else they say about him? For every good thing they say about his technique the is some thing bashing him as slow, basic, inactive, easy to hit, etc. I seen that Dempsey fight...

Re: JOE LOUIS VS BILLY CONN, 1942 FANTASY FIGHT.
WHAT IF: JOE WOULD HAD DEFFENDED HIS TITLE AGAINST CONN JUST A YEAR AFTER BEATING HIM IN 1941? I HAVE TO GO 50/50. LOUIS BY KAYO IN THE 13TH ROUND AGAIN OR CONN BY DECISION. Louis destroyed EVERYONE in rematches. And Louis was past his best in their 46 rematch as well so I don't know why people dis...

I'd agree that the fighters you mention would all have a good chance of KOing Patterson, but they all hit a lot harder than Conn (who, just so you know where I'm coming from, is my own personal all-time favorite light heavy). Conn did ideed hurt Louis, but it was really just one perfectly timed, pe...

WHAT IF: ALY VS FRAZIER 1968
WHAT WOULD HAD HAPPEN IF ALY SHOULD NOT BE STRIPPED OF HIS TITLE AND DEFENDED IT, IN 1968 AGAINST JOE FRAZIER. THE OUTCOME: ALY BY DECISION OR 14 ROUND TKO.

INMMEDIATLY REMATCHES THAT NEVER TOOK PLACE.
WHAT IF THESE FIGHTERS WOULD HAVE HAD THE REMATCH INMMEDIATLY IN THE NEXT MONTHS, OR AT THE MOST ONE YEAR AFTER THEY FIRST MEETING?: JOE LOUIS VS BILLY CONN, MARCH 1942. JULIO CESAR CHAVEZ VS MELDRICK TAILOR, JULY 1990. SUGAR RAY LEONARD VS THOMAS HEARNS, MARCH 1982. MARVIN HAGLER VS THOMAS HEARNS, ...

OK, I'm willing to go with Conn...but by KO? He didn't have many of those. Even though Floyd didn't have the strongest chin around, I still have a hard time imagining Conn taking it to Patterson agressively enough to score the knock-out (his famous flurry vs. Louis notwithstanding). Or are you envi...

Williard was known for possessing exceptional punching power. His right uppercut ranks alongside history's hardest punches. He drove one fighters' nose bone through his brain with the uppercut, which sadly killed him. His boxing skill can be debated but if you read the accounts of the time the man ...

An interesting topic. Williard I think was a carbon copy of Vitali Klitschko but with better stamina, better inside fight game, and slightly more power, but he also had less athleticism and slightly worse defense. I think Williard could come on strong to take a 12 rd decision over Vitali. I think C...

my guess is Conn-Dempsey would look quite a bit like Tunney-Demspey, but with Conn showing quite a bit less power, but more speed and movement than Tunney (which is saying something!). Conn by decision--without ever getting serioulsly hurt or coming close to hurting Dempsey, unless Dempsey got luck...

..when tyson was good he had an excellent left jab...in the sense that he could outjab his taller opponents...and i don't think converted southpaws are good at this. not sure the photo is conclusive evidence he is right handed though. he appears to be looking at the fountain pen and wondering just ...
