Re: Strike Action

I got a really decent payrise this year, it was bloody fantastic actually. But obviously private sector job security is a lot more risky in a recession, so it’s swings and roundabouts. Not a problem when companies like yours are on easy street living off taxpayers' money. Guaranteed profits, rain o...

Re: Brexiteers were right, Remoaners were wrong again!

Britain has more than enough racist people, but not in a ‘far right’ way. A classic mix of whataboutery and wild assertion that, well done that man :TU: Britain, in my view, 'does race' far better than most nations. Including most, perhaps all of the EU. It's not even a debate really. It’s hardly a...

Re: Round-by-Round: Joe Joyce vs. Joseph Parker - 24 September 2022

Makes me sad to realise Joyce is 37. There are so many weird and wonderfull matchups for him that I want to see befor he starts fading. He really is a once in a lifetime fighter (not saying he is the best, but there’s never been anyone quite like Joyce.) :TU: Someone made the comparison to Froch ea...

Re: Round-by-Round: Joe Joyce vs. Joseph Parker - 24 September 2022

Joyce gets hit an awful lot. He might end up with brain damage against wilder, even of he wins. Even if you're chin is rock solid, it's not good for your brain. Might sound odd, but I honestly don’t think Wilder is an overall big puncher. He’s got a huge right hand but he usually has to wind it up,...

Re: Round-by-Round: Joe Joyce vs. Joseph Parker - 24 September 2022

Anyway, thank god we got rid of Parker. 24 rounds with Chisora. Sick of seeing his name mentioned in big fights. Long time since he was impressive. That’s how I see it. Nice guy and decent heavy, but a long way away from the top level really. Life and death with Chisora twice, lost to Whyte and jus...

Re: Strike Action

NHS raise is 8% (according to my contacts in the industry anyway), which is pretty decent under the circumstances. Devil will be in the detail as ever, perhaps it’s not as good as it first appears.

3% is a pisstake.

Re: Strike Action

More seriously, what’s the strike actually about? Pay, presumably? I know the NHS has just announced decent payrises for a number of bands, wondered if teachers would get something similar.

What is we still had Wood-Lara.
Must admit I was considering subbing again for Wood-Lara. I unsubbed out of principle after the PPV introduction, but happy to pick up the occasional month again if a fight / card deserves it.

Re: Strike Action

Half the teachers in my high school were constantly off with stress. Looking back, can’t say I blame them, it was rough as fvck and full of super-violent stupid kids, must have been an absolute nightmare. Never had a day off sick in my life. Not even when I was a kid. There’s loads of Tories on here, they just don’t admit it. It’s always hidden behind things like ‘I don’t trust Labour’ / “I’m not right wing, just not left wing” and so on.

Re: All womans boxing card October 15th good or bad idea? (R.I.P Queen)

I’m really glad this thread title has been suffixed with “R.I.P Queen”. Gives an air of class to the forum. Anyone who knows what ‘suffixed’ means is giving away their grammar school upbringing as well. I’ve got a degree in English, and still had to fvcking google it to double-check I’d got the cor...

Sigur Ros are amazing, one of my favourite bands. Not heard any of the others, apart from Bjork.

Re: Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez vs. Gennadiy 'GGG' Golovkin III - DAZN PPV - 17 September 2022

I honestly don’t see how the PPV would get c.500k buys outside the US. Wouldn’t believe anything DAZN say tbh. I’d put a lot more trust in what DAZN says over Eddie or Dan Rafael. There’s no way it had 500k buys outside of the US which is what Rafael is now trying to imply. Ellerbe isn’t helping bo...

Eddie is being super defensive on Twitter today. Absolutely no way it was a successful or profitable show.
