Re: Pacquiao files federal lawsuit - read it here!
Manny complies to all drug tests by any athletic commission, he does not see why he should suddenly be insisted on drug testing by the world doping council because Mayweather says so. This testing involves ppl randomingly turning up at any time and insisting on a sample, something current athletes a...

Re: Moore Rhodes nearly bankrupted Maloney - what we gonna do?
Boxing has lost the newspapers, there is hardly any coverage and it certainly does not make the back page anymore, Moore v Rhodes a few years ago would have got a page at least, in The Times it was a paragraph. boxing is too fractionalised for it's own good, so when you lose the support of newpapers...

Re: Khan - Kotelnik does only 30,000 buys PPV
I don't blame Haye tbh, the Klitschkos are trying to hang him out to dry. I think haye has realised he's selling himself short, the fight for him vs Wlad sold out very quick and it was off the back of him as well as Wlad. Why sell his soul when he can get better money and better chance vs Valuev. I...

Re: A rise in non-televised shows?
One could say boxing got itself into this mess? If it was attractive enough then ITV would have kept it, but we've fed mainly rubbish over the last few years, world title belts awared not won, poor defences, the WBU fiasco, harldy an decent British/European title fights. Boxing needs a kick up the a...

Look at this way, if you were a broadcaster would you be interested in investing in a sport that has mis-matches, weak 'world tile' fights, cancellations & weak undercards?
nah, neither would I.

Re: i am on a boxing down
I'm pretty sure that many fights from the past had boxers fighting with injuries or recovering, now we have boxers not taking the risk, a back strain a tooth infection, a leg muscle pull. When you are an athlete than you are going to get injuries, the difference is eastern european boxers have a ver...

The Harder they Fall is very entertaining Story of a foreign heavyweight controlled by the mafia who climbs up the ranks in rigged matches. The actor looks like Primo Carnera and he eventually he fights the real Max Baer. Jersey Joe Walcott plays his trainer and Bogart is the washed up hacked hired...

Re: Cinderella Man - BBC1 10.35 tonight
Ron Howard is a director who manages to make tense real life situations (Apollo 13, Cinderella Man) and make it as exciting as a grey room. Neither film had anyone on the edge of their seats , even if you knew what was going to happen, and in both stories there was fantastic edge of seat stuff in re...

Re: Better career - Lewis or Calzaghe?
Let me tell you this, the very very casual fan rarely talks about Calzaghe, they can only remember the Eubank fight, and the Jones/Hopkins, but they know the latter were past it. The very very casual fans I know remember most of Lewis's fights, and Naseems as well. Benns & Eubanks go without sayi...

Just how tall is Amir Khan?
with all the talk about Amir Khans size advantage over MAB in the allegedly upcoming fight I viewed his loss over Prescott again and a couple of things struck me. Both fighters are listed at 5ft 11" yet Prescott seemed at least 1 and a half inches taller than him, and I don't think Prescott is ...

Re: Khan has to strip, Harrison a no-show
this whole card is a shambles, and shows complete lack of control by FW. Absolutely no-one at work has mentioned this bill, or Carl Froch, which to me means boxing just is not in the publics mind anymore. Love em or hate em, we need the likes of Benn/Eubank/Naz and Lewis back.

Re: From our Russian friends - karate vs boxing
A 'teep' (front thrust kick) into the abdomen, or even on the thigh, would make any fighter think twice about advancing, I use it in muay thai sparring alot because it allows the older and slower me some breathing time by stopping the younger guns advancing and beating the crap out of me, it eventua...

Either download Sopcast and watch the MMA channel (it takes a while to load), it's been running pretty well for a while now, or use the link I'm about to send you.
