Re: What was the biggest upset that you predicted?
Myself and my mates went to the Audley-Rogan fight and all lumped on Rogan to win at 9/2. He won a 10 round decision 96-95.

First sparring experiences
After many years as an observer I've finally taken up some boxing training. It's really enjoyable so far but one quote that always comes to mind when it comes to sparring is "everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face". I haven't sparred yet and probably need a fair bit more t...

Re: Groves vs. Eubank Jr: Who Are You Rooting For?
Froch has always been a deadly finisher But how many of those guys had Groves' power? There's no question he was hurt, but like you say — a few more seconds and he might've found another big shot. As much as he looked like an imminent canvas-tripper, he wasn't given that chance. The thing is groves...

Brooks losses to GGG and Spence are far better than DeGale's loss to Truax. Brook should be higher.

Re: Lucas Matthysse vs Tewa Kiram
I'm picking Kiram to win this. Matthysse, a 35 year old former Light Welter, has had a single fight at Welter, and though he looked impressive in that, Taylor was made for him and I think that might be a bit of a mirage. How many fighters, especially punchers, continue to have success at 35 years ol...

Re: If you were appointed head of Boxing at Sky....
Get Nelson and Smith out immediately. Jim Rosenthal and Dempsey would be fantastic to have. Macklin and Andy Lee are good, you'd probably also need somebody with a bit more presence - I wouldn't mind seeing Paulie more involved or even Lennox. Get rid of all the Matchroom cheerleaders. Also cut the ...

Re: Golovkin v Alvarez tactics
Canelo has it all to do. His power is questionable and completely unproven at the weight. In his lone 160lb outing against Chavez, he had his own way with a weight drained opponent who he used as a punchbag for 12 rounds with a stoppage never looking likely. Ok, he managed to stop known china-chins ...

Re: Ward vs Kovalev II - June 17
In fights like this where stamina & fitness were not factors first time around, I think you have to go with the guy who had adapted best to his opponent by the end of the first fight. I think it would be a stretch to say Ward was controlling the fight by the end, but Kovalev certainly seemed to ...

Josh King 15/8 with PP to beat Michael Katsidis on Sat in Australia is an absolute steal. Free money to all. King has been out almost 1.5 yrs after losing to Ricky Burns but Katsidis has been out 2 yrs and has been shot to pieces for years. All aboard.

Re: Official Boxrec Predictions for Haye vs Bellew
Haye KO2. A very easy and one sided fight. As soon as Bomber tries to punch Haye will counter and put him to sleep instantly.
