I can't believe he isn't returning until 2027.
There are enough months left of this year for him to potentially get out again.
He never took a sustained beating or anything like that, he just punched himself out.
I would have thought he'd be itching to get back out ASAP.

No excuses yet.. https://twitter.com/conornigel/status/2098989721703891405?s=46&t=jVvPzC6vyPZylN7gkMdGbg His Eggcellency is classy in defeat. Benn has done really well for himself despite being continental level at best. Hopefully the manner of this defeat will make him realise his limitations.

Re: Moses Itauma: what’s next?
He's young, he can come again. He's not a bad fighter; he's got good fundamentals, he's got searing speed, good power and on the evidence of last night, a massive heart. He beat himself with poor tactics and I have to ask what his trainer was doing? The manner of his defeat was reminiscent of David ...

Re: Mike tyson vs riddick bowe 1991?
Generally speaking Lewis would've been considered and was considered the #1 Heavyweight with or without Briggs yes, but Briggs would've legitimately had claim of the Lineal Championship, though admittedly a devalued version of it as it had already become in the hands of George Foreman due to the wa...

Re: Mike tyson vs riddick bowe 1991?
Why is it that it's only in the heavyweight division that people seem to care about the linear title?
I rarely, if ever hear discussions about linear champions in the lower weight classes.
If it's so it important amongst the big boys, it should be just as important in the lower weights.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua | NETFLIX - Winter 2026 *new thread*
I suspect nobody on here would be too upset if the fight fell through. I’m definitely in that camp and one major silver lining if that does happen would be the damage it does to the particularly dislikeable Dana White. It seems as though he’s been a big driver in trying to stage the fight in USA an...

Re: worst managed fighters
Marvis Frazier was badly managed by his legendary father, Smokin' Joe Frazier. Marvis was a talented boxer type, but Smoke sought to turn him into a mini-me, which he just wasn't capable of emulating. As if that wasn't bad enough, Joe threw him in with Larry Holmes and Mike Tyson, the two best heavy...

Roy Jones Jr - versus Tarver 1; coming back down from heavyweight had really taken away his almost supernatural like athleticism. imagine he had just retired after the Tarver 1 win.. I was prepared to give Joshua the benefit of the doubt for the Dubois fight, bad nights happen, but no, some of you were right - he's shot. His chin has never been McCall-like, but there's no way that first shot has that effect on him 6-7 years ago. Those of you who said that the last 48 hours have...

I hope he sticks to it, because he's completely washed up.
He's had a phenomenal career that 99% of fighters could only dream of.
He has nothing to prove and there is no sense in him hanging around for up and comers to feast on as a big name.

This fight was beyond tragic. It's things like this that make me want to fall out of love with boxing. In what universe is it OK to sanction a professional boxing match between a long retired 55 year old and much younger man? The bloke he was fighting didn't even take it easy on Byrd either, plus th...

Is there a precedent for this? I am aware of fighters dropping trinkets, Bowe dumping the WBC belt to avoid Lewis, but keeping the WBA and IBF straps, for example. I could cite Bowe again when he dropped his newly won WBO trinket in order to have a rubber match with Holyfield, a move I still applaud...
