Where has the British arrogance/self confidence come from

In the past 10years? I absolutely love it but ten+ years ago (besides naz) British fighters were generally quite quiet and American fighters were always known to be ultra confident, arrogant and deemed quite disrespectful to some however the roles have completely reversed we have seen Haye, Chisora,...

Re: I'm telling you now Groves will be our Andre Ward

Not sure about the 'not easy on the eye' comment. I enjoy watching groves - has power and is a very good finisher. i just feel he looks great against the opposition he has now however when he steps it up he will be a grinder like ward, but a winner.... An under appreciated winner.... I'll take that...

I'm telling you now Groves will be our Andre Ward

Re: Roy Jones vs Lebedev 2.30pm GMT

Hilarious fix. Roy didn't go down on cue. Lebedev stepped off, awaiting Roy to 'crumble' realised he hadn't then stepped in for another shot (as Smoger woke up and stepped in). Roy goes down half hurt, half as expected. Never heard so much crap in all my life. Lebedev clearly gestured to the ref to...

Re: PPV - The history and how to draw the line?

There has to be a market for it which generates more money than regular Sky Sports its just simple economics.... Boxing is different to a lot of other mainstream sports where we can often wait months for a decent scrap to catch our attention so the tv bigwigs decide to fleece boxing fans knowing the...

Re: Bunce let himself down tonight

Interesting to see on the flip-side, American Dan Rafael obviously see's fights objectively as he has the same point of view as Bunce, but as an American. I like reporters who can see beyond patriotism. Not that I'm necessarily agreeing with it all, but it's nice to see. Here's a copy of the article...

Re: Calzaghe - "I can beat Wlad Klitschko"

The impression I get of Joe, especially when reading his autobiography was that he did not have much self-confidence. He talks of not wanting to travel on airplanes, psychological stuff such as thinking food is lodged in his throat when he eats before fights and it drags him down and the constant pu...

Re: Froch To Fight In October In UK

Dan Rafael is suggesting it could be against Andre Dirrell on 10th October as a defence of his belt and the first fight of the potential SM tourney.

If so, it is a very big step up for Dirrell but he has good potential to be a dark horse.

Re: Wladimir win last night - betting help

I will say that William Hills are the biggest bunch of pudenda in the betting game. A mate of mine backed Barrera to beat Juarez in their first fight and the original result was a draw as some will remember. William Hills stated his bet had been lost, he went to bed etc and that was it until the mo...

Re: Wladimir win last night - betting help

If a fighter doesn't answer the bell it will be paid out on a previous round stoppage. Above is correct, its 100 per cent a 9th round stoppage, the man never moved off his stool and did not make it to the centre of the ring (thereby answering the bell for the next round) Very unlucky on your part b...

Wladimir win last night - betting help

I put this post in here because although slightly off topic, lots of brits are familiar with boxing betting..... I had a few quid on Wlad to win in the tenth round and BBC boxing and Boxrec have the fight listed as a tenth round retired/stoppage for Wlad and ESPN got it 1 second stppage into the 10t...

Re: Have Hatton and Witter Ever Spared?

I dunno, Harris has looked very spent since that fight and I dont personally think Witter deals with pressure very well, he seems like he doesnt know what to do under pressure, a bit like Audley, looks off balance and awkward under pressure. But who knows HE did well against Ndou's pressure True, b...

for the upcoming Hatton fight. It would be easy for a former trainer who parted ways in un-ideal circumstances to be a little bitter and obviously go for the other man. Interview on HBO website... Bradley stripped of WBC LW belt

Means Alexander and Witter has been ordered for the vacant belt, Witter is lucky to get a chance so soon if this goes through smoothly.

(For Bradley refusing to fight Alexander next)
