Re: Boxing Life Stories - I'm calling it now
If you listen to the last one (Joe Calzaghe #2), there is an hours chat afterwards with his long running sponsors where he talks about how the series has developed etc. He says he wants to get off the treadmill for a while and the pressure to release a new episode every week. But he doesn’t rule out...

Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Robert Helenius | DAZN - 12 August 2023
Better fight than the Washington and Chisora options - at least he is the correct side of 35 and not AJ's mate. Yes, I know he lost to Washington but Washington is of an age now where he would just go to a shell. I think Helenius will give it a go, he will probably get smashed inside of 2 rounds bu...

Re: Gavin Gwynne vs. Craig Woodruff | CH5 - 17 September 2022
It was a good fight, and the draw was a fair result.
I can understand Woodruff feeling miffed about it though as it was there for the taking.
He made Gwynne look one dimensional at times but just let himself get outworked in some rounds.

So cricket is carrying on, horse racing resumes on Sunday but the Board says there can't be any boxing on Saturday night.
Makes no sense.

I hope it goes ahead but if it had to be postponed why couldn't it be 2 or 3 weeks (as long as the venue is available)
When Trinidad v Hopkins was postponed after 9/11 it was held two weeks later.

Let's wait and see what happens. Hope the BBBofC follow the precedent from when King George VI died on 6 February 1952 - shows took place in the UK on Thursday 7 Feb (i.e. the day after the King's death), Friday 8 Feb and Saturday 9 Feb, with steps being taken at shows to mark his passing. George V...

The Sky hype machine is the promoter's dream when they give it the full push. I wouldn't be surprised if it does well.

I also check in for the show running orders that Ruthless posts (Thanks) and every forum needs someone like him to keep the momentum going by starting threads.

Any interim opponent will certainly not be someone with ambition like Joyce or Dubois.
They will be looking for someone who hasn't got much power or any future. Joshua needs building back up.

I'm pleased with more boxing on Ch5 but it would be a shame for Meaty Mick if he got the boot. Exclusive deals with single promoters have often been bad news for viewers as they seem to let the quality slide once they have got the contract. On the wider point about the value of appearing on Channel ...

An absolute robbery. I'm so disgusted by it that I'm too angry to work it out but how could IJL score it 114 - 111. He could only have given Jack 4 rounds minus the point deduction. Then there was the 10-8 round, so apart from that he has given Catteral 3 rounds. I just can't see how this is possib...

Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Liam Williams | Sky Sports - 5 February 2022
Williams weighing in at 1lb under concerns me. why? he's done it several times and it happens all the time that a guy comes in 1 pound under. seems like hardly anything What I mean is that it suggests he's small at the weight and Eubank is a big middle. So I wonder whether that will make a big diff...

Re: BBBoC Overturning a decision? (Is it possible)
The referee has the discretion to deduct a point or points for hitting an opponent when he's down. He can also disqualify the offender. That gives the referee quite a bit of leeway and I bet the board will close ranks & decide Steve Gray acted fairly. Personally I thought it was serious enough t...
