Re: ward-kova II, why not overturned?
The proverbial "belt" is wherever the ref deems it to be. Tony Weeks clearly explained (whilst delivering his final instructions) that punches on Kovalev's elastic waistband of his shorts were perfectly legal, since he was wearing them very high. He also explained that punches below this ...

Re: ward-kova II, why not overturned?
Nobody says “below the waistband.” I think you are being a little too literal. Kov’s “belt” didn’t look high to me, but it’s the refs job to determine if a fighter’s “belt” is high. It’s not unusual for a ref to point out that a fighter’s “belt” is a little high before the fight. Pretty clear he sco...

Re: ward-kova II, why not overturned?
..this is NOT the question of who was winning and who was losing the rematch..and it's not the question of effective body punches, it's about the stoppage and its legitimacy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLxlV5C4KHY i find both clips convincing. the first makes a good case for kovalev being easi...

Re: ward-kova II, why not overturned?
Terrible video. First off, anything below the belt is an illegal punch, doesn't have to hit him square on the sack. Second off, the camera angles are horrible and the ref is almost always in the way when the worst punches are shown (as was the case in the majority of the replays HBO decided to show,...

Re: ward-kova II, why not overturned?
I always liked Ward as a fighter. He is very good. However, the second fight with Kovalev was a complete joke. The low blows were Andrew Goloata-ish. And the ref, the HBO announcers, just pretended like it didn't happen (and still do when they talk about it). Max "dumb dumb" Kellerman toni...

Re: Pardon sought for the late, Great Jack Johnson
Pointless subject. He is dead.
We know he was a target because he was black and it was a completely different time...why is the gov't waisting time on this shit?

Douglas on THAT night was really on point. He fought with more speed then Lennox Lewis ever had. Lennox was never really a fast fighter, Douglas on THAT night (and that night only) fought like an all-time great. He boxed perfectly, and gave Tyson angles that i'm not sure Lennox could give because he...

The top 5 i think should be Holyfield Lewis Bowe Foreman Micheal Moorer Lewis beat holyfield past his prime, and lost to an ordinary fighter named Oliver Mccall, Holyfield never lost to such opposition. You could argue Bowe shouild be higher then Holyfield because he beat him 2/3 ...BUT they were ve...

Holy most definitly. I mean Tyson was a decent champion who got HUGE popularity because he did what the public wanted; which was he often knocked guys the fornicate out. Holyfield was too determined to lose to Tyson in his prime, Tyson never won a fight against anybody who gave him a challenge. Tyso...

Screwjobs in boxing history........(help me out)
