Weight classes of two boxers

Melving Lopez fought at 124 pounds his last two fights, so he should be categorized as a featherweight. His page shows that he is a bantamweight. Also, Mike Plania fought at 127.5 pounds on Saturday which is super featherweight, but his page shows that he is a featherweight. They were both on the sa...

Re: Jack Dempsey versus Evander Holyfield

It would have to be the cruiserweight version of Holyfield who would have been less experienced than Dempsey. Holyfield has the height and reach advantages. I think it would go the distance even at 15 rounds and a close decision, but I don't know who would win.

Re: WBA Unanimously Approves 'Super Cruiserweight' Division

I am not against having a bridgerweight/super cruiserweight division, but this has been done all wrong by the WBC and WBA in my opinion. If the sanctioning bodies lowered the cruiserweight limit from 200 to 195 and then made the bridgerweight limit at 215, there would be a 20 pound gap between light...

Re: George Foreman(Old) vs. Zhang Zhilei

Old Foreman probably was at his best when he went the distance against Evander Holyfield in 1991. Holyfield could not knock Foreman out, so I doubt Zhang would be able to. Zhang has never lost by stoppage as a pro. I guess this fight would last 12 rounds. Zhang is 40 and Foreman was 42 when he fough...

Re: WBC creates transgender division beginning in 2023

What about hermaphrodite? Discrimination :maybe: Hermaphrodite athletes are very rare, especially world-class athletes. There was an Olympic track athlete who won gold medals competing as a woman. There was controversy, but the Olympic committee eventually ruled in her favor based on the belief tha...

Morrison was able to withstand George Foreman's punches, so I think he would against Zhang. I think Morrison would outbox him too. withstood george foreman's punches, yet got iced by michael bentt. funny how it works Morrison was the most motivated in training for Foreman because of how good Forema...

I have never seen curry as a hof talent i just dont get it. Maybe you had to see him live or something Curry beat Marlon Starling by split decision in 12 rounds and unanimous decision in 15 rounds. Starling was the best welterweight later in his career. I think Starling should be in the HOF. Curry ...

So they actually basically fought to the best of their ability? I can't believe they made it 6 rounds instead of 4. The whole thing is pointless anyway, but they made sure to add 6 more minutes of damage to the guys bodies. That's just great. Hopefully they got paid alright for it. They obviously n...

Katie Taylor will never agree to 12x3 minute rounds, especially against the elite. If the Serrano fight was 12x3, Taylor would have been stopped.

The WBC is not going away and the IBO is a quasi-major sanctioning body. The "big 4" should strive for unification in all of the weight classes and fair/impartial judges.

Women's boxing is not dead. The women don't seem to care as much about having undefeated records. Unification fights continue to happen. The best have to fight the best in order to make good money in women's boxing. In men's boxing, the world champions can still make good money even if they don't fi...

Danny Santiago, there's a name from the past. Think he got dragged out as a WBO defence for Zsolt Erdei at one point. Erdei had some title defenses against boxers who were not world-class. After Santiago won against Marlon Hayes in Florida, he got a title shot against Erdei. Santiago was rated abou...
