Re: Women Boxing
You are absolutely right, McMorrow has had some unfair decisions against her. But with the comp she has fought during only 17 fights qualifies in my book as thrown to the wolfs :P Kenia had her first 9 fights in Mexico, then she had 4 fights in San Diego, and those have been the fights which has got...

Re: Women Boxing
Holly Holm probably considered the risk/reward was better going for Rousey than Braekhus. I was bitter about it earlier, but now I realize there are several great women boxers in the world :P 29.04 Anabel Ortiz 16-3, is fighting Nana Yoshikawa who is only 4-0, but if she has a solid amateur career i...

Re: Women Boxing
After a quiet Christmas and beginning of 2015 things have started to pick up lately. First the bad news, there will not be a fight between Mariana Juarez and Zulina Munoz. It was very anticipated between fans of women boxing. But the good news is we will get two good fights on the card they was supp...

Re: Women Boxing
On Wednesday December 3rd, Heather "The Heat" Hardy, from Brooklyn New York had her 5th fight this year. To my knowledge she has been the most active female boxer in America in 2014. Fighting a stay busy fight, winning UD8, against Elisabeth Anderson (3-5), with the scores 79-73 and 2x 78-...

Re: Women Boxing
I thought the Munoz vs. Juarez fight was a done deal!?! WBC has ordered it, so it must happen soon, or else Munoz will lose the belt.

Re: Women Boxing
I recently read that myself, very interesting. What a journey she has been through. Now she is former WBA featherweight champion and current WBA super featherweight champion. She has some decent names on her record, but not the very elite ones yet!

Re: Women Boxing
Braekhus Vs Farias or Persoon at 140 (or a catchweight of say 138) would be interesting I doubt Persoon would wanna leave her WBC lightweight title and go 2 weight classes up right away. That fight is a little more in the future, but definitely something I wanna see :bag: Regarding Braekhus vs. Far...

Re: Women Boxing
I bet you are American right? You have little to no clue on whats going on outside your country when it comes to boxing. For example who is Oscar Ahlin...right! Even less when it comes to women boxing. The fact is that women boxing has more debt than WMMA by far. Women boxing has some problems in U...

Re: Women Boxing
I have been somewhat curious about women's boxing. I rarely see any fights covered anywhere. Except for back when Laila Ali and Christy Martin were around. Here's a few questions for you 1LadyB: -What's the state of the female heavyweight division? -Are there more knockouts in the upper weight clas...

Re: Women Boxing
Still she came out on top winning 2x 100-90 and 98-92. This was FOTY for me, no doubt. If the women's FOTY was scored 28-2 on all three judges scorecards its no wonder few can get into the sport as fans. Good luck to whoever enters the ring whether they are a person with a penis or a person with a ...

Women with disfigured faces ? No, thank you. GTFO then ikorolev  :bag: Sorry, I didn't mean your particular face      I'm not personally offended, I'm just a more mature man than you I guess. I asked you nicely to respect the thread and not ruin it. Will you guys abide?

Last weekend was very interesting, but with a slow start. Friday 28th, Aida Halac (5-0) from Bosnia Herzegovina kept building her record against Ivana Mirkov (0-3) from Serbia. It was scheduled for 6x2 but corner stopped in 2 Saturday 29th, A battle for the light welterweight crown took place, Ana L...

Women Boxing
I notice a lot of people commenting they would follow women boxing closer if they knew where to get information about it. So as a service, I will try my best to update on fights and other stuff here. But don't expect to much :P Since its very hard to know hundred percent if a fight will happen or ge...

Re: Claressa Shields
I had it 40-36 for Hammer, round 4 was closer but still 10-9. She had a good double jab, at least the first rounds. But you are right, Mathis will in most cases hunt you down and hurt you.

Re: Claressa Shields
It was first ruled a disqualification for illegal punches, later changed to NC! Hammer was indeed winning the fight, but either lack of inside skills or fatigue, she was no longer able to keep Mathis of her. A rematch will most likely happen at 160 instead of 154, and I think that will benefit Hamme...

You are absolutely right on that argument Reggie, but remember boxing is illegal in Norway, but Braekhus is the best of thousands and thousands of pro and amateur boxer in the world. And she was a world champion kickboxer before turning to boxing ;)

Sorry, I didn't mean towards you in particular, just the attitude towards accepting it ;) And really, your opinion on the matter of depth and competition in the sport I don't take serious, because you don't follow it. You will realize it when you look outside your boundaries, and beyond your country...

Reggie please. If you don't like it, don't post here! Why are there so many on the WMMA train, there are several girls who compete in both sports, but guys that follow boxing seems to be more hostile!! The technique to perform in the sports are a little different ofc, but the physical form a girl mu...

Re: Cecilia Braekhus
Not a bad fighter but I see too many mistakes being made already, she pulls straight back when she steps back from engaging and her head is straight up; she's needs to exist out at an angle with her chin tucked. She doesn't get her hands back into position to protect her chin after she fires her sh...

Re: Amanda Serrano headlines 9/18 in Brooklyn
Amanda is a hardcore brawler, very agressive style and she makes good fights. Looking forward to this one, tough I don't know what Trivilino brings to the table. Funny little side note, when Al Bernstein was asked on twitter if he would like to see Amanda fight her sister Cindy, he went on to mentio...
