Re: 2010 PAL who is your Picks to win the tournamen
One thing about that system is you can clearly pick out a cheating judge unless all five are cheating !! It goes by how many times the button is pushed. There are ways, but you can see it plain as day!!!

Please don't forget about Mike Reed at 141 along with Allan Russell. Antonio Russell will make noise at 123. Midget is back, so let's not forget. DMetrius Ballard and Jerry Odom will be representing. Pedro Sosa, Allan Russell, Mike Reed , or Zeddie Adams will win 141, but don't sleep on George Rinco...

Re: 2010 Ringside World Championships: Who's Going?
I heard Zimmi got smashed in Denver. Better leave him home until the Silvers. If you want I'll ask Damien Vasquez what weight he is going at so you can choose Zimmi's correct weight!!!

Re: National Silver Gloves
Hats off to region 8. They know the system and how to provide their boxers with the best chance of winning. They raise money and bring a strong team. How many officials did each region bring. The Silver Gloves has a certain style that helps boxers get to the JOs. These boxers usually do well althoug...

Re: 2010 National Silver Gloves Results
John Brown has a lot to do with the awards. Do you see the Ringside getting more play because of better awards. The belts are much different at Ringside. I get Ringside becoming a ranking tournament one day. It's in the making. Belts for Silvers get lighter and lighter each year. Ringside spoils the...

Re: 2010 National Silver Gloves Results
Does anybody believe there is a difference between East Coast and West Coast style boxing. I think West Coast is more Roberto Duran style and East Coast is more Sugar Ray Leonard style. In order to win the Silver Gloves you must definitely control the ring at some point. Augee Tyler outboxed his opp...

a boxers skill has a lot to do with the number of bouts he gets. A good boxer might not get any bouts at local shows. He may get dodged a lot. The average coach out there looks for the win. Some coaches may think ahead, but most want that win. If the average coach has a choice of a kid they lost to ...

11 year old, 100 bouts+
I've been watching this kid for a long time. Since eight. I'm not making this up. His father trains him, and I've seen him bring his son an opponent out of their own gym to match his son at a show. He was on local radio and TV for having his 100th bout. He is still going. If there is a way to check ...

That would make them the best gym in Houston. List some of the boxers that became national champions. The best thing out of Texas in the past four years would be Juan McPhearson. And a few others. There is a kid from Texas about 120 or so, 15-16 with a tremendous knock-out record. I think his name i...

Not aiming it at anybody. Some of the boxers named by some of the people in the forum became world champions. I was just stating that it is a hard road to a title fight most of the time. Usually a world title holder is not a bum. He may turn into nothing after that payday, but most of the time it wa...

I totally agree with you. Some trainers train and some let the ring train for them. What you say makes a lot of since. How many World Champions come out of Argentina. No matter what the rules are the trainer has to know what they are doing. You can be a gym rat and get burned out. Lack of competitio...

How can reaching a world title be a bum. Ask some of the hundreds of boxers who quit during their six rounders. Don't forget, most people don't see pros until the finish their 4,6,8 rounders. Ask some of those guys that never make out of the eight rounders what it would feel like to be a world champ...

I said "had" because in this sport you never know what happens to some of the best. Like I said, I haven't heard from Safo in a while. I don't know who got jobs or what. I see you didn't name a few guys I knew. No disrespect, just trying to get in touch with Safo.

Safo is a good trainer. Prentice Brewer is my style of boxer. He has been a good boxer for a while. Safo had a lot of talented kids. The outside world destroys young talent. Stay in the gym, and Safo will see to it that you do something.

400 amateur fights at 19?? I don't believe it. You say this Dusty H has 100 fights at 11 years old. Are you sure they are licensed fights? When did he start fighting? Even if Don Curry had 100 fights at 11 years old he must do 37.5 fights/year in 8 years to reach 400 at 19. That's impossible. And i...

All Dusty H fights are legal. You can box twice every seven days. A tournament is considered one fight. You could approx. have up to 6 or 7 bouts a month. He travels to NY, Baltimore, NJ , and in the D.C. area. I know he just fought Saturday and Friday of last week. You could fight a max of 70 bouts...

Lot Of Amateur Fights
I know a kid with 100 amateur fights at the age of 11. 400 amateur boxing matches is not that hard. The unbelievable part is the record. It's amazing so many matches were accepted with a record so good. Usually once your record gets too good, it's hard for you to get amateur matches. Dusty H. from W...

Best Amateur Records
:box: It's easy to look at an amateur record and think it is great, but do you judge an amateur boxing career by the number of wins to losses, or the number of National titles and accomplishments. Any amateur can box among his local neighborhood and build up wins. Majority of amateur bouts are handp...
