Best thing about this result was that Boxing Monthly can now remove him from the ludicrous number 1 position he has held in their rankings for aeons based on absolutely nothing. I don't know who compiles those rankings but that has been annoying me for fornicating ages.

Bute is a very good fighter but there is no way you can rank him ahead of Ward and Froch unless your ranking system is completely moronic. You can't rate a fighter based on how good you think they are. They have to prove it by fighting and beating the best. Someone can look like a million dollars be...

I hope Burns wins but I don't see him having the power to keep Katsidis off. I think it will be a great fight though.

Brook needs to move on to the world level now. Now is the time.

I think McCloskey will win but I find him pretty boring, to be honest. He will outpoint Prescott.

Two carthorses still make a race True. At least it will be a more even playing field and we might see some entertaining, competitive title fights. Obviously it's not a good thing that the quality of the champions won't be as high - at least in the short-term - but I'm sure just about everyone is si...

Very interesting fight. You'd have to make Canelo the favourite, but Rhodes is a very live dog for me. We haven't seen much of him on the road, but if he travels well then he could definitely spring the upset. He'll probably need the stoppage though.

Is this in Sky Sports 1 or 2?

Really?!

When do you think he's going to get any better? He's, what, 27?

Are you serious? I would make Rhodes a very live underdog in this one. If it goes 12 rounds he will be up against it, obviously, but he definitely has the punch to hurt this kid.

Great fight for him, and it is definitely the right time. By that I don't mean that I think he's going to win, but I that he's probably at his peak and might not get another chance in such a prestigious fight. I think he will do himself proud in a very valiant but losing effort. Martinez is just on ...

I give Rhodes a very real chance of springing the "upset" here.

Shocking fight. Earl is no Morales - I can see him getting hurt here. This kind of thing is just bad for boxing.

Crolla-Rees looks like a very good fight on paper. The winner would have a good shout at fighting the winner of Murray-Mitchell. Could be a nice little British round-robin developing there.

Two good fighters whose careers have mostly been wasted on the shelf. Will be interesting to see who has the most left.

You always know what you'll get with Judah. If he doesn't get Khan out of there in the first 5 rounds he'll probably lose.

Froch is certainly one of the ballsiest British fighters of all time. He certainly isn't among the most talented or most complete fighters from these isles, but he is compiling a hell of a record and if he continues winning then he will have a credible claim of belonging in the top 10. If he beats W...

Didn't he have an ear problem before one of his previous fights as well? One of his less-than-stellar performances? Might be imagining it.

This fight would make a lot of sense. I think Shumenov is underrated by some, but it's definitely a fight that Cleverly can win. I think he will probably fight Bellew next though. After that, if he still has the belt, then a Shumenov fight in the US would be a logical next step.

Very impressive condition indeed. Good to see a young fighter with that kind of dedication.

Degale didn't let his hands go anywhere near enough. That's why he lost the fight. He had one round (the 8th I think) where he put it on Groves a bit, but then he took the next round off and Groves was catching him more often.

To be honest, I had Groves ahead by a round but I would have had no arguments had it gone to Degale by a round or if it was a draw. It was a very close fight and some rounds were very hard to score.

This has draw written all over it.

Ha, Degale just took the round off after having his best round of the fight.

Fight almost broke out there in the seventh!
