Re: Haye Wins

First defense out of the way, it did feel like DAvid was beating up the old man, really. What happened with the "back problem" Vitali then Wlad cancellations (was it just '09?). Can't help but think that was a blessing, really. I do think Haye can beat both of them, but he's going to have ...

Re: Haye Wins

hayes biggest problem fighting the klits, is that he has to sacrifice one of his assets, which is his outside boxing skills. If he fights them from the outside, they are going to jab his head off, which means he will need to find a tactic which allows him to get past the jab and into range, without...

Re: The Last Time You Were As Excited About A Fight As Haye-Klit

I think Haye may have picked his time. By the time the fight takes place Klit will have had one fight in nearly five years. At 37/38 it's gonna hurt. Sam Peter is a different bag to Haye and a much more comfortable opponent in terms of pace for an ageing fighter. Haye's single punch power is often t...

He better get himself in the gym and get ready to fight He obviously has never heard of Haye because Haye is never OUT of the gym as far as I'm aware! On the Bunce show, Ricky basically said he's paid his dues "I beat Tszyu, took on Mayweather, the best P4P, etc." Fair enough, but the mentality of being a champion is that you don't stop paying your dues, you don't knock off at 5 o'clock. Witter is never going to set the world on fire - a...

Re: Is boxing still the most lucrative sport?

Of course this is a rare example but even lower level fighters with a good following and a title belt can make millions knocking over bums in front of home crowds. Name a low level boxer knocking over bums and tell me how much they are earning - minus expenses and tax - and factor into that they ar...

Let's not turn a thread about Eubank into a thread about Mayweather/Hatton. I don't see the fit.

Eubank's quotes are gold but he tends to lose it the longer he talks - such is the man. An individual there's no doubt - and a GREAT boxer more Greg.

It was a bit of Insult considering how hard guys like Witter had to work for his belt. He didn't and doesn't exactly have Haye's popularity. We have three Champions and a decent amount of title holders. They are rewriting the definition of a Champion. I took that as Haye having a a direct swipe at ...

Re: F-ing Diabolical

Great win for Haye but did anyone think they were watching a national broadcast on behalf of the Talking Bollocks for Enzo party? For a start Bunce floats a catchweight contest beyond Cruiserweight, surely heavyweight bout would suffice for this? Didn't see the coverage, but Bunce has clearly had o...

Khan can beat Earl now. It's a good fight for him to take. Katsidis will have taken a lot out of Earl. As for Thaxton - if Dave Stewart can land the long punches and hurt him so early on, Khan will twat him by mid rounds. Khan will look like a very fast light middle in there with Thaxton. I think al...

Why, oh why, oh why can promoters just not work with each other for a change? It would be so much better for our sport as a whole. Fwank is the main culprit re. showcases. Hennessy and Maloney have but on far better value bills consistently over the last 12 months. And house fighters have suffered defeats as a result. Part of being a boxer. Otherwise do marbles instead.

Trouble is thought, neither Haye nor Enzo are massive draws, so fighting one another financially probably ain't worth it to risk another loss and get set back a few notches on the campaign trail towards a title. Richard Wiliams last night

What did anyone make of it? I was at York Hall and I thought Richard looked like he was waiting far too long for the first couple of rounds - HavaAkrap took the fourth round I thought. But when I evaluated the fight at the end I thought Williams did it all his own way. Classy display, the way he gra...
