Not a chance of Haye meeting Wlad this year. Wlad has Thompson in July and then Povetkin, probably in November.

Haye needs to beat someone at heavy, apart from Tomasz Bonin, and then go see about Wlad next year.

If they could make Calzaghe-Tarver, that would be some fight. Tarver has just the right amount of arrogance/personality to sell the match and he beat Clinton Woods.

True.
Breland did look good though - Starling really was the stereotype experienced veteran, even when he was in his 20s!
Awkward so and so, that Starling!

Mark Breland. Got knocked out by Marlon Starling in a shocker at the time. Breland had won a gold medal at the 84 LA Games and was supposed to be the next big superstar. It was never the same after the Starling defeat. Yeah in retrospect you can't believe that Brelands managment let him anywhere ne...

To be a bit different, these guys didn't win but weren't expected to and put in great performances. Colin Jones against favoured Milton McCrory at welter, two hard matches, a draw and split decision loss in Reno and Las Vegas. Jim McDonnell against the great Azumah Nelson super feather. Pat Cowdell ...

The critics are going to have a field day criticizing Joe if he loses. First trip to the USA to face a great, they'll say, and he loses to a 43 year old. Can't you imagine the US media and Hopkins saying no wonder he stayed in Europe so long. It will damage his legacy, no doubt. Still been a fine su...

Woods was a tad over-rated by plenty and Tarver written off too early. Come on, Tarver was a former champ with amateur pedigree, he knocked out Roy Jones. Woods has plenty of heart and guts, a good fighter, but not quite enough class to deal with a motivated Tarver fighting at home. Woods got a draw...

Benn was an exciting fighter, big puncher, met a lot of 'bodies' brought over for him it has to be said, but he was a fighter you had to respect. His WBO win against DeWitt didn't mean much at the time, no matter how much ITV tried to hype it up. The WBO title was lightly regarded then. McCallum, Nu...
