he seemed to be trying something new for him against an opponent he could afford to do that with.
he honestly looked bad for the most part, although he now seems to be capable of really hurting someone with one shot.

Re: Gvozdyk vs 175's challengers
I think he does well against all of them. Alvarez looked good against Kov, but i'm still not sold that he is the man of the division or would dominate the others as he did Kovalev. His technique and style is good, but his power doesn't seem to be as consistant, and theres no telling if it would effe...

Re: Hurd vs Jermell - 2019? and who would win it?
Jermell is the more technically sound of the two twins, and has the type of style that could better handle a guy like Hurd. Hurd seems to be trying to transition into a more technical style, but he looked confused and not sure what to do at times last night. a bigger, stronger, and overall better fi...

Re: GGG: an all time middleweight great?
I thought this was about comparing GGG's resume to Hopkins, not about whether either guy could beat the other  As a Hopkins fan, i'm definitely not convinced that Hopkins would have an easy time with GGG, in fact it would probably resemble GGG vs Jacobs. Honestly, Hopkins never faced anyone lik...

Recent Joshua Clottey interview - Judah pulling gun on him, and his effort vs Pac
Really interesting interview. lol @ the encounter he had with Judah though sometime before they fought. You can literally picture Zab acting exactly the way as described lmao. There are times when Joshua Clottey regrets his actions on March 13, 2010; moments when he wonders what could’ve been. That ...

Both guys also tend to get better as their fights progress. I think Errol is more likely to get discouraged though than Crawford, especially if Crawford starts to constantly land.

awesome, great analysis and use of gifs!
it's a 50/50 fight to me, i'd slightly favor Crawford though

Re: if Crawford cleans out the welterweight division..
Far too early to even consider. It's unlikely that Crawford will even have the opportunity to swap punches with the PBC fighters. Maybe the Spence fight will go down once the mainstream interest develops and the money is right. The Crawford who posed with Benavides last night doesn't look like he w...

if Crawford cleans out the welterweight division..
where would you rank him in your ATG list? this obviously includes Crawford hypothetically beating Spence in a future match of course. I definitely think completely conquering two divisions is a good argument for any fighter to be ranked in the ATG list, especially if one of those divisions is the w...

Re: How good is/has been Sergey Kovalev?
he was pretty good, lots of natural talent. he got really far in his career it seems with just his jab and right hand. he lacked inside fighting skills though, and some defensive issues as well i.e keeping left hand low during and after exchanges but he was dominant in his prime, and imo is the firs...

Probably the same way people remember Jermain Taylor, Kelly Pavlik, and Sergio Martinez.
Middleweights who were good for their time, but fell short of accomplishing enough to be considered among the all time greats in the division.

Re: Successful unathletic slick boxers
Can't believe noone mentioned Bernard Hopkins, who is one of the best examples of this. Early in his career, Bernard didn't really seem to have any specific tangible athletic qualities with the exception of being tall and rangy. Roy Jones was able to beat him with just one hand in their first fight...

Re: Is Crawford similar to Mayweather?
Crawford is slightly naturally bigger than Floyd, and also a slightly stronger/bigger puncher. I'd even say Crawford might be more naturally talented than Floyd especially offensively, and is more like a Pernell Whitaker/Roy Jones type of talent, that comes along once or twice(if we're lucky) in a g...

aside from Tszyu, only guy i remember that might have given Floyd some trouble at super lightweight was Vivian Harris, who was hyped up as the next coming of Hearns of 140. mainly because he was a tall, rangy, athletic fighter with good power, and was trained by Emmanuel Steward. but the guy had eve...

Re: What is wrong with Thurman ? A year of lay off and not even a TBA opponent ?
As a fan, i gotta admit i'm a bit disappointed in Thurman. This could very well be a legit injury, but rumors of him wanting to sign with Top Rank arose around the same time the injury happened. Add in the fact that recently it became public knowledge that Spence actually cuts alot of weight to make...
