Re: MMA thread?
I favor Wonderboy in this one. Tyrone is super explosive. But, I believe Thompson should be able to keep a good distance from Woodley and pick him off as he comes in. Should be interesting. Wasn't he 57 and 0 in pro kickboxing? A fair few saying he's the best striker in the UFC. Was really interest...

Degale clear UD if he doesn't take too many rest rounds.

Prefer the average feather/bantamweight fight to the average heavyweight fight to be honest.

Re: MMA thread?
Hard fight to score because of 3 main questions. Was the first a 10-8? Was the 2nd round knockdown enough to cancel out Bisping's earlier good work? And who won the 5th? For me it was Hendo 1 & 5, Bisping 2,3 & 4 but the first round was a 10-8 so 47-47 draw. If you're not scoring the fight t...

Re: MMA thread?
I'd be interested in seeing how GSP would neutralize Jones' strengths. While he is athletic, I give Jones an edge there. And I really haven't noticed any outstanding adaptability within a fight with GSP. I've seen him come back better in rematches. And I've seen him follow strict game plans. But I ...

Re: MMA thread?
GSP. Obviously no one is wrong in this debate but how would you see GSP beating him? My view isn't driven so much by a specific game plan for GSP, but more from the fact I've never seen a fighter better at neutralizing an opponent's strengths. His all-round athleticism coupled with his adaptability...

Re: MMA thread?
I'd love to know how you distinguish between those two. I consider untouchable as someone who is just that. Someone who dominates every fight. No one is untouchable. Silva wasn't untouchable in either of the Sonnen fights, yet he won both. Anyhow, I stick by what I originally said. It's fine if you...

Re: MMA thread?
The most interesting fantasy match up, stylistic wise, between 2 ATGs would be Aldo V Jones in my humble opinion.

Re: MMA thread?
I'd pick Jones over GSP. All just opinions obviously and we'll never know but Jones is much more viscous and uses a more varied striking attack while still being a good enough wrestler to not let GSP man handle him. GSP would point score strike with wrestlers (the jab-fest v Kos) or dry hump striker...

Anyone here follow the British mma scene? Nowhere near as much as I should do. Why? Are you part of it? No mate I train in bjj/Olympic wrestling I don't compete. Frankie Edgar V Jeremy Stephens
Khabib Nurmagomedov V Michael Johnson
Tim Kennedy V Rashad Evans
Tim Boetsch V Rafael Natal
The official 205 prelim card is arguably good enough to be a standalone Fox card!

Re: MMA thread?
I'm not being funny but it will be interesting to see what the excuse will be if McGregor beats Aldo again. Odds on favourite is "Aldo is shot", "Prime Aldo beats McGregor every single time". The reluctance to give Conor credit comes across a little haterish at times. Of course A...

Re: MMA thread?
I assume they'll just throw him some money and he'll quiet down. I don't totally understand his complaint. I get that he wants a rematch with McGregor, and he beat Edgar to get it, but what if McGregor never comes back down to 145? The UFC can't force him to if he says he can't make the weight anym...

Re: MMA thread?
Jose Aldo is now trending and has been for a couple of days, White is saying he refuses to let Aldo go. Me wonders if Aldo has just booked himself a rematch regardless of the McGregor Alvarez outcome. Seems a lot of people are suddenly giving a poo about Aldo. I assume they'll just throw him some m...

Re: MMA thread?
Probably over-analyzing but Alvarez looked like he was trying so hard to look unfazed by Conor that he came across all jittery. I still don't think many know how to handle Conor in these situations even if it is the same routine. Can definitely see Alvarez winning though especially if he wrestles. ...

Another great fight on TUF Wednesday night. This season is on it's wy to being the best one that I've seen so far as far as the match-ups are concerned. This whole Matt Serra and Nick the tooth fallout seems a bit immature. I think the tooth has fallen out with Dana now aswell apparantly lol. They've been friends since they were kids aswell. Anyone know much about this Paddy Pimblett character? Cage warriors featherweight champion at 21 years old. He seems to be getting quite a bit of hype in different places online. Must be why there's a queue of fighters rushing to leave him eh Tbf hes got a monopoly. There really is only one option out there nowadays for fighters with having the sky contract. Also, still awaiting to see Phil Brooks' wrestling coach, Ben Askren in the UFC. Gone are the days of "The best fighters in the world fight in the UFC" when you have 0-0 guys making their debuts without any kind of combat sport training under their belt. Yes, props to Mr. Brooks for givin...
