Re: Lucky punch does exist ? Do you believe so ?
I don't even know why people are even attempting to dismiss the element of luck when random one-punch KO's occur. For sure, they don't happen that often, but we've all seen one. I don't think any boxer throws a punch with the intention of it missing. So tell me, what makes these rare lucky punches ...

That's exactly what I was thinking and he doesn't look like Glen face wise either.mercman wrote:It doesn't look like Glenn McCrory to me. The guy in the video doesn't look much taller than Tyson and McCrory must be about 6' 4".

Re: Sergey Kovalev vs Andre Ward
Is it just me or is it a bit backward that we get this fight on normal sky but have to pay 17 quid for AJ Molina!! I see your point and share your sentiments but from a British casual fan point of view the Josh fight is much more important. Mr Hearn knows this and takes full advantage unashamedly.

Still haven't watched the first 1 because of how blatantly obvious it was going to be a stinker, a rematch has to be even worse.

My best upset prediction was Hide v Bentt because I cleaned up at the bookies when I got 40/1 for round 7

Re: Joe Louis at his very best
Haye easily went 12 rounds with a peak 6'6" X 245 Wladimir Klitschko, who's one of the greatest Heavyweights in the History of Boxing. This might be a bit of an overstatement, although Haye went 12 rounds it was more a matter of surviving 12 rounds without any real intention of trying to win. ...

Re: Best of these three boxers: Eubank, Benn and Collins
Just using a random example here... Terry Norris beat Ray Leonard but I wouldn't imagine too many people think Norris was the better fighter. Not a valid comparison. Collins was TWO YEARS OLDER than Eubank, and the same age as Benn. And Collins had been in plenty of wars and was not a "defense...

And beat and Benn twice too.

Re: Virgil Hill: A Top 20 All-Time Light-Heavyweight?
Hill's way above Toney at LHW. Well he accomplished more....but since Toney didn't spend a lot of time there, and started as a middleweight, and would be an odds on favorite to beat Hill....I thought I'd toss him in, to lure you to the conversation. Another fighter who didn't stay at LHW long was M...

Although he was a small heavyweight Floyd Patterson had faster hands than both of them but Ali definitely had quicker hand speed than Tyson.

Re: What fights would you show a non boxing fan to get them into boxing?
benn v mclellan and chavez v taylor, under no circumstances show nelson v de leon  Well remembered...I think most of the crowd phoned out for pizza, had a nice nap or got the playing cards out. Thankfully, common sense prevailed and we were all saved the abject misery of a rematch. On the subj...
