Re: Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou - October 28, 2023

I don't really see what would be disheartening for Boxing fans. I think it did teach us all a valuable lesson though. With An Elite Boxer vs An Elite Striking MMA fighter, victory for the Boxer is not a given. This is copium: in what universe should an elite boxer be remotely competitive with a com...

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou - October 28, 2023

Reminder that McGregor was pretty competitive with Mayweather. Kind of sounds like you forgot. Mayweather was literally laughing at him during the fight, which amusingly has been forgotten in time as McGregor's legend grew (in spite of him also decisively losing a bunch of fights). There's no forge...

Re: Will Fury duck Usyk?

Which means that he was still able to win with relatively minimal effort in his training. If he gets a big money rematch out of it, good for him I say. That'd be a Classic Hustle. That being said, I hope a rematch with Ngannou would come after he fights Usyk first. The Saudi's seemed to be reacting ...

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou - October 28, 2023

Congrats Francis for his performance! He humbled greedy fat belly. Francis took this fight very seriously but greedy fat belly not. It must be very disheartening for Fury, for his team, for his fans and also for some boxing fans to see that an mma fighter with almost 2 years of lay-off beat the big...

Re: Will Fury duck Usyk?

I don't believe Fury's flabby bloated body is now capable of getting in the shape it will need to to beat Usyk. Wilder, Whyte and Chisora all hid the decline in Fury .. but it was all there to see against the fit and strong 37yr old guy making his boxing debut. i def dont think he can train like he...

Re: Will Fury duck Usyk?

Even though I do believe Usyk will beat Fury, I already thought that before the Ngannou fight. Fury fought about like he always does against Ngannou honestly, he just wasn't quite prepared for Ngannou to be as prepared as he was. Ngannou's timing wasn't great which is why he landed very few clean pu...

Re: Tyson Fury’s real ranking in The Pantheon of HWs

You’d have to squint a bit to put David Tua in the top 50 of all-time heavies, but he would have smashed Fury and Ngganou like a piñata last night on peak form. He would have done Ngganou in two rounds early evening and come back for Fury at later in the night. Fury and Ngganou were rubbish if we c...

Re: George Foreman (Old) vs. Oliver McCall

Neither one of these guys were especially great at winning decisions. I think Foreman would've had better timing, and McCall would've thrown more punches.

Neither guy would get really hurt at any point.

I'd favor Foreman ever so slightly, and with not much confidence.

Congratulations, this is an incredibly stupid post.

"Did he take a dive for a knockdown?"

If it was a Dive, he would've STAYED DOWN. That's what a Dive is.

Re: Tyson Fury’s real ranking in The Pantheon of HWs

Wlad has a legit top 20 claim. And Fury is better than him. Why, because he scraped a decision against the worst ever version of Vlad? Klitschko at his best would have battered Fury which is why the con man ducked a rematch and faked his whole mental health routine. Fury is nowhere near a great HW ...

Re: Marcos Maidana vs. Miguel Cotto

This fight would a f*cking classic for sure. I can imagine them both giving the other all that he wants in there. Cotto's overall superior skill probably allows him to edge it, I feel like Maidana is the grittier, tougher guy and would always be coming forward, but Cotto's mix of good jab, body punc...

Both at their absolute best Byrd outboxes Wilder I think, but Byrd's focus has to be razor sharp because one of them Wilder right hands gets through clean at any point, and it's curtains.

Watching the fight back today I think you guys blew Ngannou's success in the fight out of proportion a bit. Through 7 rounds Fury has won them all except the won he went down in as far as I'm seeing. ya masterful timid, powerless air jabbing from tyson Fury's not dominating by any means, but he's g...

To me officially retiring means. You don't come back. Then again, do we have to wait until someone dies to really ensure they don't "come back"? If the boxer says he's retired take his belts away, even imaginary ones like that one. No, you create another Champion in the meantime like they...

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou - October 28, 2023

Fury isn't going to "carry him" because he isn't that dumb. The best way for Fury to get KO'd is to carry him. Exactly. He may start the fight cautiously just to get a sense of Ngannou's timing and rhythm, but once he has the measure of him he'll begin to attack and take over. A big punch...

I don't really see how it's a joke. Ngannou is a Champion from another Combat Sport, and this sort of thing isn't exactly unprecedented. Re: Fury vs Ngannou

Well I'm seeing now that it is NOT an Exhibition, and it is listed as a 10 round Professional Boxing match.

In that case, I actually like it, and have no issue with it. It's gonna make me 20 bucks this weekend because one of my Co workers is certain that Ngannou is gonna knock Fury out in 3
