Re: the best hw canelo would beat
Looking at BoxRecs top 25, I will go for #24 in Gerald Washington, or possibly Charles Martin at #15.

Re: the best hw canelo would beat
At heavyweight lucus brown is probably the highest ranked (on boxrec {48th}) guy that i would defiantly back canelo to beat, definatly a few above that he could possibly beat.
I Back canelo against every 168, and Probably have him favourite against all 175s. But at cruiser beridis smokes him and likely the other topish guys, and all the top heavys bash him (wilder still leaves the tinyest bit of grey in my mind, but think thats stupidity talking).
Canelos Hype at the moment is interesting. its like he has been sparking top guys in a round, and not getting hit at all. sure he is my P4P #1 but, his last fight he went a dominant 12 with smith, Before that he was arguably losing after 10 to a very past prime Kov who then wilted, befor that a clear win though competitive fight with jacobs, and before that a couple of fights vs past prime GGG That over the 24 rounds i think GGG probably won.. Yet somehow, people think he is going to give Fury trouble? based on what? hes hardly dominating top 160lbers, yet he is going to be beating top 260lbers?

Bunch of nonsense. Even lame Lucas Browne would be able to use his size advantage. Sad fact is that Canelo couldnt even beat mw GGG.
Re: the best hw canelo would beat
He lost 4 or 5 rounds to Jacobs and most had him losing to GGG, calm down.

ppl seem to generally have him the fave to beat all the lhws and as well as a great shot of beating top cruisers, so i am curious about where those ppl see his limit vs hws

If he signed to fight Beterbiev where do you think the betting line would settle?margaret thatcher wrote: ↑27 Jan 2021, 04:20 ppl seem to generally have him the fave to beat all the lhws and as well as a great shot of beating top cruisers, so i am curious about where those ppl see his limit vs hws

Re: the best hw canelo would beat
Its totally unprecedented for middleweights to beat cruiserweights and heavyweights. Never been done
Re: the best hw canelo would beat
RJJ and Toney both fought at middleweight and had some success at HW. I am assuming the question refers to moving up weight classes, rather than fighting at HW whilst you're a MW.Jeff_lacy_ko wrote: ↑27 Jan 2021, 16:03 Its totally unprecedented for middleweights to beat cruiserweights and heavyweights. James toney is much too small to beat a fighter of charrs caliber. You must be mistaken

He beat Holyfield who is significantly above Charr's calibre.Jeff_lacy_ko wrote: ↑27 Jan 2021, 16:19ImpossibleVerdi wrote: ↑27 Jan 2021, 16:14RJJ and Toney both fought at middleweight and had some success at HW. Re: the best hw canelo would beat
In the 40s of the ranking there are some wastes like Lucas Browne. I guess, Canelo can handle him. Not sure, if he can deal with anyone higher. Probably Washington, who is often lethargic and soft.
Re: the best hw canelo would beat
It shows lot of Boxrec Members don't know much about boxing.
If you watch Ruiz fight against Roy Jones Jr, The refree was instructed to seperate them whenever Ruiz gets inside or
in a clich. Watch this fight and refree did it more than 100X times.
If Refree was natural and as they allow it in usuall heavyfight, Ruiz would have killed or permantly injured Roy jones .

yeah but he's a bum, a joke, a clown, a worthless piece of doodoo... cause joshua's power was too much when he landed punches on him in the boxing contest they had.danconnollyeire wrote: ↑28 Jan 2021, 06:55Canelo has made everyone lose perspective lol. Martin is 6"5 250lbs
whereas canelo here is a god walking amongst mere mortals. holding back power on his body punches cause he knows he would kill em all.
lost back to back to ggg and got gifted a draw and robbed him off his belt in the rematch but only to make things exciting for us & so we all can cheer for our ginger strongboy and that he may never loose again.
Re: the best hw canelo would beat
Martin would fornicating destroy him.
Re: the best hw canelo would beat
My god the hype Canelo is getting now is unreal. Excellent boxer but wow.

Re: the best hw canelo would beat
Never been done at least not in the modern era, where middleweights go up to cruiser or heavy and beat bigger guys
Certainly greats like charles martin and gerald Washington would walk all over smaller fighters.
Guys like sam peter, rahman, ruiz, holyfield, dom guinn, arslan, arent on the level of someone like charles martin.
