I wonder if Frawnk has any inside intel that would give him added confidence in making this fight, for his younger more promising man to win

I'm DDD KO too.
Joyce is obviously more proven and could outlast him, but Dubs should land enough first.

Definitely one of those A early, B late fights - odds are around 75/25 - seems right to me.

Think joyce has to fight an ugly first few rounds, jab and tie up wrestle type thing. just to take some wind out of DDDs sails then once he is a bit gassed just try take him to a dark place with plodding volume....

true 50-50 in my mind.

Didn't tire against Johnson over 10 did he either? Though wasnt exactly under pressure there. Some muscle men do have stamina

Yea after the 2nd ddd had Gorman beat, I’m sure DDD can beat people up for 20 rounds. But Joyce is ducking huge and super strong, few clinches and tie ups hanging on DDD combined with Joyce’s pace will test DDDs engine. My guess is it’s not as good as Joyce’s.

Another thing to consider is Joyce has faced vastly superior opposition in his short career. Bryant Jennings is multiple levels above anyone DDD has faced.

Joyce will have learnt a lot in the fight. He was by body shots in that one.

It's heavyweights and anything can happen, but I'm going for Joyce by stoppage 8th or 9th.

A case could be made for any outcome as Dubois hasn't really been tested. Plus he does have 1 punch Knockout power.

Joyce has faced world class as an amateur and in the WSB , as a pro he's had a mix of easy and learning fights, so we know a bit more about him. One thing is Joyce is hittable , and Dobois will land on him so it could be over before we know it.
Joyce needs to get his weight right, he was way to heavy in his last fight, Dubois looks in great condition already.
I'm certainly looking forward to this one.

I think Joe shocks us all, absorbs the power punches and does a tiring Dubs in the mid rounds. Joyce has already had more challenging opponents and experienced resistance. Dubois hasn't been given a gradual arc of increasingly stiff opposition -- it's been all cannon fodder and now he's jumping straight in with a beast. Big gulf, bad idea.

Agreed. Dubois’ last 3 fights have been crap. Tetteh, Fujimoto and Snijders have all been really poor opponents and he wouldn’t have learnt much fighting any of them.

Could he not have fought someone like Wach? Hammer? Temper? Duhaupas? Someone of a similar size that may still have a little ambition.

If Dubois is the real deal he'll handle Joyce, but Joyce is a proper unit and for me will take some shifting. The fight last night for Dubois was a farce.

Dubois best win was against a Gorman who turned up out of shape and was a punch bag for a few rounds. I dismiss that result as a meaningful test for Dubois - Gorman let himself down big time.

I'm getting a David Price vibe about Dubois, but will be happy to be proven wrong

Unless Dubois has a glass chin we don't know about yet I think he will beat Joyce. Joyce is tough but easy to hit and slow, DDD has a decent jab and I can't see him having any problems landing it.

Dont think gorman was out of shape, he is always flabby.

I want this ddd vs joyce fight to happen, But i do think its the wrong time to make it for DDD. DDD is 22 and never been past 5 rounds (for stamina purposes i dont count that version of kingpin, he didn't throw a punch, that was a 10 round heavybag session.), never been in a hard fight, never been gassed... why would you match him with a guy, bigger, stronger, crazy engine and with 12 round experence...Not saying DDD cant win, but i think there are stepping stone fights needed.

DDD should fight, Allen, Wach, and Breazeal (optional) then joyce... Admittedly, he should of done that strait after Gorman instead of tet, fuji, and duchy... But yea, i dont think you want your first time ever gassing at all in a fight to be against someone 260 pounds of relentless plodding power.

It was Gorman's biggest fight and he came in at a career heaviest - He didn't prepare properly and it showed. His kid was in hospital if I recall and he was doing training runs in the hospital car park. Add on his mrs being heavily pregnant (think she gave birth on the week of the fight) - How can this not affect a mans preperation.

He was living off of Dubois still being the amateur he used to spar against and I guess thought he could just turn up - The usual mistake.

Joyce on a narrow points win or late stoppage. I will jump aboard the Dubois hype train if he does a number on Joyce though.

This seems to be another fight that boxreccers mystifyingly see as a 50-50 in the mould of enzo/haye, cleverly/kovalev, gorman/dubois.

It isn’t though. DD to detonate Slow Joe!

I find it bizarre (on social media, not so much here) that people are predicting Dubois to win in a round or two. People underestimate Joyce IMO. Joyce would have destroyed every single one of Dubois'opponents just as easily as he did.

Joyce has career wins (am + pro) over Jennings, Yoka, Hrgovic, Dychko, Majidov, Stiverne and Ustinov. Maybe not world beaters, but several levels above anyone Dubois has fought. Literally the only named guy on Dubois' record is Kevin Johnson.

It'd be awesome if Dubois did 'detonate' Joyce, as I believe Joyce has only been down once heavy in his extensive career, and he recovered well from that. It'd certainly send other heavyweights a message about how powerful he is, but I've got a feeling that Joyce will take Dubois' best shots and still keep coming forward.

I don’t see it as a quick knock over job but I do see Joyce being taken out by 7 or 8

I think Dubois will only win if he does get Joyce out in 7 or 8, if it gets to the later rounds I don't think he does.

Joyce has been in with some big punchers and taken many big shots in his career, yet still not been properly KOed. It would be an amazing achievement for Dubois if he could be the first. The top guys like AJ and Fury will have sparred Joyce many times in the past and I bet neither would be confident of a conclusive KO stoppage.

Dubois should win .... not based even slightly on last night, but I reckon he hits hard and Joyce is slow and easy enough to hit.
