You do know The O2 has not sold out despite only half open the last two times (including this Saturday) Matchroom have been there? And they hold the record for the lowest there and The Echo arena?

Hearn was selling a domestic card at the O2 with the top tier closed headlined by two novices and shifted more tickets than this world title card has done.

Degale v Groves so promoted well but it was also 7 years ago when Warren was the top promoter.

Okolie v Chamberlain sold the best part of 8k tickets (which was significantly more than they’d sold for the billy joe Saunders card) which is amazing really.

In the first 4 months this year Warren will have
promoted one York Hall show and one arena show (Frampton). He’s already pulled one show because of ticket sales (which was mostly moved to York Hall show) and now this one has been pushed back.

In the same time Matchroom would have had 5 (I think) arena shows (which have all sold well with the possible exception of Kell Brook), a next gen show and a massive PPV at the Millenium Stadium.

W@rren needs to do everything he can to get Fury over the line.

Yeh that would have been a good fight at the time. Braehmer being himself was being difficult.

Not sure what DeGale Groves from way back when has to do with anything.

The fact remains more tickets for a fight like Okolie Chamberlain were shifted than for a world title fight with an undefeated former world champion on the undercard.

Not hard to see why the likes of Dubois must be looking at their promoter and wondering about his ability to, you know, actually put fights on when compared to their contemporaries.

It was also PPV and it was one of many of his PPVs that had really poor undercards in the 5 years before he left Sky.

Fury before his absence didn’t do big numbers at all (his 2 shows with strong ticket sales were driven by his opponent - in Klitschko - or undercard - BJS v Eubank Jr) but I would argue his return, if priced well, should do decent numbers.

The perception of Fury as a fighter has grown significantly since he stopped fighting. A lot of people have forgotten that the Klitschko fight was not only a poor fight but also reasonably close. People now say it was a masterclass and that Fury schooled him.

Also the interest in the heavyweight division hasn’t been this high since Lewis fought So naturally I think there will be strong demand to see his return fight.

I agree though about the other guys wanting to more active - particularly Ohara who hasn’t fought this year.

Two exciting domestic match-ups have been confirmed for the undercard of Billy Joe Saunders’ WBO Middleweight World Title defence against Martin Murray at The O2 on June 23.

Heavyweight sensation Daniel Dubois (7-0, 7 KO’s) takes on Hatfield’s Tom Little (10-5, 3 KO’s) for the Vacant English Heavyweight Championship and undefeated Guisborough Super-Lightweight talent Josh Leather (13-0, 6 KO’s) squares off with highly-ranked Hackney man Ohara Davies (16-1, 13 KO’s).

Dubois will be aiming to continue his seven fight KO streak when he fights at The O2 for the first time next month. Little is looking to return to winning ways after a loss against Hungarian 2016 Olympic bronze medallist Filip Hrgovic.

He’s a nice boxer, decent range and work rate and a wee bit of power. Think European level will be his maximum but then I would say that about Davies as well.

He was in a very good, razor thin, fight with Glenn Foot, who is a bit under-rated to be honest, and he beat Phil Sutcliff in decent style. I think it’ll be close enough, although I’m saying that from the perspective of someone who doesn’t rate OD very highly at all.

Davies has had the hype but he doesn’t have a stand out win. 60/40 in Davies favour I’d hazard - good fight

he not bad though, just not world level. leather is a decent fighter who would be his best win by far imo. leather is strong and fights hard but looks a bit open and can be hurt. but good heart. should be interesting. maybe lean davies a bit.

well little did have those wins over sandland, sokolowski, and dallas, those would be the type of wins id think could get a guy near an english title fight. the loss to the 2-0 european was to a vastly experienced amateur who was an olympic medalist/world series of boxing champ/junior world champ, at english level that type of loss shouldnt hurt all that much

Bill realy is treading water at the moment is'nt he ,,Don't blame him he has his sites set on a big payday with Canelo or GGG, unfortunatly , i just don't see them happenning , i do agree with Warren , Canelo will not take Billy on , Billys the wrong style for Cheatelo . GGG well the fights just not big enough for him and he will be made to fight his mandatorys first .

Really its hard to see where Billy goes from here , except to carry on treading water , until he is forced to fight a madotory against the likes of Jacobs , and probably lose

Middleweight world titleholder Billy Joe Saunders' defense against longtime contender Martin Murray, scheduled for June 23 at the O2 Arena in London, will have live and exclusive coverage on ESPN+ in the United States, ESPN announced on Thursday.

As part of ESPN's deal with Top Rank, the promotional company acquired the American rights to the card for ESPN's new subscription streaming service. This will be the second international event Top Rank has acquired for ESPN+ following Amir Khan's first-round knockout of Phil Lo Greco on April 21.

Coverage of Saunders-Murray will begin at 5 p.m. ET while undercard action will begin at 2:30 p.m. ET. Other bouts that will be included are heavyweight prospect Daniel Dubois (7-0, 7 KOs), 20, of England, against Tom Little (10-5, 3 KOs), 30, of England, for the vacant British title and light heavyweight up-and-comer Anthony Yarde (15-0, 14 KOs), 26, of England, against an opponent to be determined in a 10-rounder.
