Shame for Murray but to be honest, he didn’t deserve the fight in the first place.

Saunders is full of it though, no surprises.

The biggest difference between him and Haye is Haye has spent more money than Saunders will ever earn

I’m glad Murray pulled him up on his bullshit chat though. I suspect Murray would give him a hiding outside the ring.

just to clarify...

BJS has a calf injury, tried to get over it but could not.

No road work/running = no chance of making the weight.

Have we not all been hyper critical of fighters stepping on the scales like a skeleton (JD) or overweight?

BJS has pulled out at 3+ weeks notice. This was a world title fight not a york hall 6.30pm bout!

The card is still going ahead. Good news for the likes of Yarde. God knows how many tickets had even been sold. I'm assuming some will ask for a refund?

Frank should keep Murray on the card, as a good will gesture.

In my experience, refunds won’t be given.

This is why I'd always note a side of caution when buying tickets for a allegedly show! If I was buying tickets for a show of his I'd make sure it was close to home.

I personally don't think BJS is injured at all. The tickets have probably been moving slow and he's pulled the plug in the hope GGG and Canelo don't manage to come to an agreement.

x2. I've learned from experience to avoid buying tickets for his shows. in 30 years of being a boxing fan I've never wanted to just buy a ticket to "a night of championship boxing" of the wbo inter-continental variety. If I buy a ticket to see a fight, I want to see that fight.

I purchase tickets with my credit card. Tickets over £100, I'm covered for a full refund under section 75. :yay:

BTW Stu, did you get tickets to BJS vs. Akavov? ;-)

Same mate. 90% of the fans hardcore or casual will mainly be buying for the main event unless you know someone personally etc... I'll always go and watch all the fights regardless but if the mains cancelled then it's a waste of fuckin money but Fwank doesn't give two fukks. I know injuries and pull outs can't be helped but it happens for too often to Fwank for it to be a coincidence.

Thankfully not mate

It was a late move that fight wasn't it? I'm sure he was supposed to be fighting him a week or two prior and it was moved due to Akakov having visa issues or something? Can't be sure. I'm sure I had a works night out that night so I watched it the next day and it made my hangover worse

That's almost certainly the case and i'm surprised Murray didn't see it coming.

If the injury is legit and the fight is cancelled for not other reason, then it will be re-arranged. Yeah right!

Roberto Garcia Willing To Replace Saunders, Face Martin Murray

WBC Silver Middleweight Champion Roberto Garcia has just the cure for the upset Murray.

“I’m not like Saunders,” said Garcia. “I’m not afraid of Murray. I’m willing to risk my title and come to London to fight Murray before his hometown fans. Let’s get it on!”

Saunders postponed the originally scheduled April 14th fight with Murray because of a alleged hand injury. Now he is pulling out of the June fight because of an alleged hamstring injury.

“My manager, Lee Holliday, informed me today that my promoter, Don King, has reached out to Warren’s team about making this fight. I have a “have Belt and will Travel” attitude and ready to back it up tomorrow if necessary.

“No more whining about Billy Joe and his excuses. If you want to fight on June 23, then put up or shut up. If not, then you are just Billy Joe with different excuses.”

Why is it taking so long to sort out this show?

I know FW is pushing the Fury show at the moment but if I’d bought tickets for this I’d be pissed. We knew about BJS pulling out of the fight over the weekend (I assume they’d known a couple of days previously) but they still haven’t announced what they’re doing with Martin Murray (if anything) and still don’t have an opponent for Yarde.
