Billy Joe Saunders vs. Martin Murray - 23 June 2018
Re: Billy Joe Saunders vs. Martin Murray - 14 April 2018
Yeah I don't have any problem with the title defense. Murray's credible. I just don't look for it to be a particularly entertaining fight, but the card around it may be stacked.

its fine to keep bjs busy but still

ya murrays a credible and reliable loser

Murray only need go the distance and he's right back in Horse's Top 3 Lb for Lb UK (and Andy Lee) boxers.
Re: Billy Joe Saunders vs. Martin Murray - 14 April 2018
Whilst I accept the importance of keeping BJS busy we have seen in the past the sort of performances he puts on if not fully motivated.
After such a great performance last time out I hope he builds on that rather than reverts to form.

Is Murray a free agent or is he still with Matchroom?

I think he will be fully focused. Ingle seems to have him where he needs to be and he knows he's got a big money fight looming.

This. Both top ten, all British world title fight, keeps Saunders busy and realistically what other top middleweight was coming over here in April? Possibly Andrade if he got a good wedge. Other than being up a super middle Murray hasn’t looked out of his depth in any fight, although Golovkin ground him down eventually

No-one is forced to watch it but the champs camp calls the shots and Murray is the lucky winner, don't blame him for accepting the challenge. MM is past his peak but has the experience and ring savvy to keep Billy honest and I think thats what Ingle is looking at.
Murray was unlucky in his first 3 attempts in fairness; Sturm in Germany, Martinez in Argentina and then a GGG probably at his peak and being swerved by everyone at 160. He could easily have been given the nod over Sturm, I still think he should have got it vs Maravilla and he took GGG into the 11th when no-one had come anywhere near that level of mere survival against Golovkin.
Frank Bruno had 4 shots didn't he? Can't think of any who had a fifth off the top of my head but with 4 titles these days its not that surprising really and if Smigga had 3 then the books are open

It's a bit Kell Brook v Frankie Gavin for me. I like Murray but he's no longer a credible world title challenger

We could do it like conkers. The winner becomes a seven times World Title Loser.

Bjs 1.25 judging off this poll
Re: Billy Joe Saunders vs. Martin Murray - 14 April 2018
murray should really be gunning for the record of most title shots w/o a win. its a shame groves hadnt won the wba already when he fought murray, then muuray would be going for a 'perfect' 0 out of 6 rather then merely 0 of 5

And there in microcosm is much of what is wrong with boxing today. Captures the fact it's essentially a glorified sparJackson328 wrote: ↑19 Jan 2018, 17:07 MM is past his peak but has the experience and ring savvy to keep Billy honest and I think thats what Ingle is looking at.

Murray must have some photos of someone in awkward situation to be getting a 5th title fight.

I think he was present at the match room / sky sports / alphabet groups international meeting with the smith family. The Smiths and Murray cleverly took photos of the enormous gay satanic bestial orgy that took place. All the participants in world and British boxing are now under the thumb of the Smiths and Murray. They are the real power brokers of world boxing.
Ps I have seen some of the photos and they’re not pretty. Eddeh Hearns in particular is very lucky to not be in a wheelchair.
