Just wondered if he's sorted Nick Blackwell the £50.000 he said he was gonna donate to him ?
Unfortunatly after expenses including Hayes million , there was'nt enough left to give him anyorbtastic wrote:Didn't he promise a % of the gate? Anyone know what the gate was?

I was wondering where Blackwell was on saturday,i suppose they couldnt find the time whilst all the "experts" were giving their opinions and Haye was telling us what his favourite meal waslefty wrote:I'm pretty sure I saw haye in the week leading up to the fight that he been talking to Blackwell (he also mentioned something about him coming to fight and doing a bit of commentary for Dave but that didn't seem to materialise tor whatever reason) Anyway Haye said somethung about Blackwell would have to wait till two or three weeks after the fight to get the money. Something about Haye himself not seeing the money till a few weeks after the event. It didn't seem like an excuse to fair.
i totally disagree Steve, it was Haye- for reasons of his own, that we might speculate over- that made his 'generosity' a matter of public record. we don't have a 'right', at all, I agree, but once he has put it out there people are bound to ask the question. of the self-serving publicity-whore Haye might or might not be.Stevieb8006 wrote:It's not really any of our business how Haye handles his affairs tbf. I don't understand why people feel they have the right to know this kind of stuff nowadays. Bloody social media![]()
Granted David did talk about it in public, but still.
Don't know about that mate ? When Haye had a bet for charity with Chisora on their fight and he won, he just told Chisora to give it to the charity, instead of taking it off him, he could of took the money and gone on the news to hand it to the charity live on Tv, if he was that way inclined.bripez wrote:I am sure if / when Haye gives Blackwell some money we will all know about it - he won't do it on the quiet, he will be all over tv, the papers and social media handing over one of them 6 foot cheques like you see on Children in Need.
If he doesn't give him anything then we will probably read about it in the Sun in Blackwells next interview.
I presumed that Blackwell probably just wasn`t there, and thus avoiding the Eubanks at the Haye fight as it would have put him on the spot in light of Monday`s revelations.handsofstone wrote:I was wondering where Blackwell was on saturday,i suppose they couldnt find the time whilst all the "experts" were giving their opinions and Haye was telling us what his favourite meal waslefty wrote:I'm pretty sure I saw haye in the week leading up to the fight that he been talking to Blackwell (he also mentioned something about him coming to fight and doing a bit of commentary for Dave but that didn't seem to materialise tor whatever reason) Anyway Haye said somethung about Blackwell would have to wait till two or three weeks after the fight to get the money. Fair enough mate - hopefully it is a genuine gesture.Anzi wrote:Don't know about that mate ? True, Trump and Sugar do it all the time.bripez wrote:Fair enough mate - hopefully it is a genuine gesture.Anzi wrote:Don't know about that mate ? However, Haye is a great self publicist and he will know that by giving £50 grand away he will generate more than £50 grands worth of favourable publicity.
Last year I read an interview with this bloke who was considered one of the worlds top marketing gurus.
When asked his advice he said that if a company had a marketing/advertising budget of £4mil then the best thing they could do is to give £1mil to charity and then spend the other £3mil telling everybody about it.
True - the advert a couple of years ago for Great Ornand Street Children's Hospital where Sugar says at the end "this is a great charity and why I have donated my fee for this advert" but doesn't mention that his donation is tax deductible and he will get £millions of good publicity out of it.Anzi wrote:True, Trump and Sugar do it all the time.bripez wrote:Fair enough mate - hopefully it is a genuine gesture.Anzi wrote:Don't know about that mate ? Sure, but surely everyone benefits from it? I mean the charity does well out of it too, let's not forget.Anzi wrote:True, Trump and Sugar do it all the time.bripez wrote:Fair enough mate - hopefully it is a genuine gesture.Anzi wrote:Don't know about that mate ? To me, I think there's no such thing as real altruism anyway, people always get something out of it, whether it's financial or a sense of personal self worth or even righteousness.
If David Haye SAID he was giving Blackwell 50k, then he’ll give it and probably has already if that’s what he said he’d do.Taansend wrote:Bigging Haye up or slagging him off are pointless exercises unless we know know know know........
I suspect the latter.ILikeBeer wrote:I can't see Haye would announce he was doing it, then not do it. What'd be the point? It'd bring him nothing but bad PR.
Besides, have we got any reason to think he didn't do it? Is there a source? Or did we just feel like criticising Haye?
