No excuses, the better man won convincingly, but anybody find AJs demeanour last night very odd?.It started for me with how he was speaking with mccracken in the corner from the very start.
Also I find it odd in the manner he took defeat, all very sporting and that, but I thought he would be gutted with the loss.
After making all the money he has, maybe the hunger has gone and he'll jack it in?.
Still think Ruiz would beat him in a rematch, but something didn't seem quite right.

Yes i thought he was very strange,all the smiles and no protest at the stoppage.Ruiz will beat him again and it would be a stupid mistake to rematch certainly this year,Strange how he said he wanted Wilder next too.

Yeah I said similar on the RBR thread, Joshua definitely wasn’t right from the first bell. If I was him, I’d consider retiring and just enjoy his riches.

Just seen on Twitter a photo of Ruiz in the ring after the fight and in the background is AJ with a big grin on his face, which I thought was weird.

There is also another photo of AJ and the caption “humble in defeat” !!!!

He always had the look of a fighter that would fold when it came back at him.

And walking back to the changing rooms. I think it's called putting on a brave face. He is a polite guy, and he realises a man has just achieved his dream, so let him enjoy it by not being a bitter bitch on the night.

That then leaves a very basic late-comer who's been guided along the best Robert McCracken can do, vs a natural fighter with proper amatuer pedigree of 105-5.

It’s not the excuses - it’s the fact he doesn’t seem to be gutted and is relatively cheery.

Totally buzzed and head not in the right place to begin with. Maybe the weight of expectation.

He looked like he froze to me. He never recovered from the temple shot.

Sums it up perfectly. It was same old AJ until Ruiz got up and began the shoot out, and had the much greater accuracy. That's an hombre who's been throwing punches since he was six, and unlike Wlad and Pov is a young man.

AJ couldkbt handle Ruiz,best chance is his power & that failed

Ruiz too good for Joshua who hasn't enough gears for boxing

He was getting pushed around with jabs to the chest. And was completely befuddled by a double jab. And was continually troubled by body shots despite being so sculpted. Every time he was hit on the side of the head his legs were like jelly.

Going to be very difficult to come back from that,Ruiz for me beats him again and the talk of wanting Wilder next is madness for his career prospects if he wants a title again.

I felt a bit sorry for him in the press conference actually. Although he was mainly respectful he was still deluded thinking that the Wilder fight would wipe out this fight like it was a fluke. He was beaten in every department. Its a shame that he's believing the hype built up by Hearn. His face in the ring told a different story. He had no choice but to quit in the end.

I did feel a bit sorry for him myself,love seeing Eddies face though,as far as Joshua calling the shots,well he's down the list now and if he wants his title back from Ruiz he should have to take a massive pay cut,doubt he will though as by the time it happens Eddie will have the casuals believing it was a fluke.

I'm sorry, but Ruiz is an absolute bum. A fat slob who is not within the top ten of world heavyweight boxing. I agree ,something is terribly wrong here with Joshua. I wasn't certain about his chin but its not that bad that a cuff around the earhole sends him haywire.
Chisora, Dubois, Gorman , Joyce and others would all beat Ruiz. Please don't anyone suggest he's some sort of hidden superstar. He done nothing to upset Joseph Parker.
I feel bad about criticising him because he was a no-hoper and won the fight fair and square. Well done to him, but come on he's in a worse state than Butterbean who was a four round gimmick.

Funnily enough I didn't have any sympathy for Hearn!

He can try but the footage will show that he was beaten up, exposed and dropped 4 times by a guy who the casuals will view as a short fat man.
