Is this at their peaks, or when the fights could have realistically happened in real-time?

Don King really messed up some fights that could of happened. I hate that manipulator. Boxing could of been so much better, about building legacies, about excitement and surprises before the money. Not only that, but he influenced other managers, promoters, and boxers to do things the Don King way.

Here is my take on these:

1922- Jack Dempsey vs Harry Wills
Dempsey overpowers Wills, and KOs him in the 9th.

1936- Jim Braddock vs Max Schmeling
Schmeling is too good for him, knockout in round 11.

1976- George Foreman vs Earnie Shavers
A bloodbath! Foreman wins by knockout in round 7.

1977- George Foreman vs Larry Holmes
Foreman wins by late stoppage.

1985- Barry McGuigan vs Azumah Nelson
A very close fight, McGuigan wins by split decision. But maybe I'm biased ( )

1993- Lennox Lewis vs Riddick Bowe
Lewis wins by UD

1998- Naseem Hamed vs Floyd Mayweather JR.
Mayweathers wins by SD.

2007- Ricky Hatton vs Junior Witter
Hatton wins by late stoppage.

I agree with most of these, except I figure Mayweather beats Hamed easier than a SD, and I don't believe Foreman beats Holmes.

I pcked Foreman to lose to Holmes in '77, but it should be done carefully. Though Foreman's best had come & gone, he was on a real good roll prior to Young, & it's too easy to forget Holmes hadn't fought anybody even near to Foreman's calibre in '77. It's close (as is a prime-for-prime fight, IMO).

1922- Jack Dempsey vs Harry Wills - not clued up about either fighter to know.
1936- Jim Braddock vs Max Scmeling - as above
1976- George Foreman vs Earnie Shavers - Foreman by early stoppage
1977- George Foreman vs Larry Holmes - Holmes by UD
1985- Barry McGuigan vs Azumah Nelson - Nelson by comfortable decision
1993- Lennox Lewis vs Riddick Bowe - Bowe suffers a ate scare to claim a SD ( 95 Lewis wins this IMO)
1998- Naseem Hamed vs Floyd Mayweather JR. - Floyd gets dropped, but comes back to outclass and overwhelm the prince
2007- Ricky Hatton vs Junior Witter - Hatton by any way he wanted.

Dempsey KO 8 over Wills.
Schmeling wins a close decision over Braddock.
Foreman gets off the canvas to knockout Shavers in wild fight. Probably goes 4 or 5 rounds.
Foreman-Holmes is difficult to say. I'm am going to say that an inexperienced Holmes is winning but Foreman knocks him out in 7.
Nelson wins a close decison over McGuigan.
Bowe-Lewis is hard to say. I will go with Bowe wins a great fight by stoppage.
Mayweather completely outboxes Hamed win an easy decision. 10 rounds to 2.
Hatton vs Witter. Is Witter really even worse than Hatton? I doubt the public missed much by this fight not taking place.

I don't think I'd consider Hatton-Witter a potentially "great" fight . . .

Unofficial street fight that should have been on camera happened on 125 St in Harlem NY one night. Mitch "Blood" Green was chasing Mike Tyson around New York for a couple of weeks trying to provoke him into a title match. Of course this was going to be Mitch Green's last hurrah for both title and a paycheck. I forgot the year.

On this one night he cornered and taunted Mike as he was coming out of a Restaurant with his usual escorts. Mike had enough of his shit and laid into him right there. Pictures in the papers showed Green pretty beaten about the face-but nothing came of it after that. I dont think any charges were filed either way. Witnesses said it last 2 minutes and was pretty to watch.

Should have been on camera.

Didn't the fight on the street occur sometime after their actual in-ring stoush? I heard Green was after Tyson & King about money owed from the fight, or something along those lines.

Mitch Green once went to rob a service station and when the attendants ran away Mitch started filling up customers' cars and pocketing the cash :DD

The street fight occured in 1988, 2 years after their ring fight. Green went the distant with Tyson in the ring which stated something about Green at that time. It kept him in the picture for a little while. Tyson wouldnt give him the rematch that Green wanted.
It could be very well about money King owed him. King is notorious for that kind of business back then and probably today.

Didnt hear that one, but Mitch was a character of sorts here in NY.
Iran Barkley, when he was a youth growing up in The Bronx,NYC,was in the same street gang as Mitch Green.
Mitch, strictly a kid from the streets, but he had a crack at some of the best.
Could have been a "Rocky" story if he could have kept himself in control and listened to handlers.

The Green - Tyson fight was fairly competitive so Green must have been a not bad fighter. It's a pity he was a headcase though

it would have been marked as one of the greatest British fights in British boxing,

Jock McAvoy vs Bert Gilroy circa 1940,

it was boxing's greatest period,
the greatest period for Middleweights,
the Lonsdale Belt then was near world title status - the winner would have been off to the States for Apostili and co, or a little later Zale and co.

two British greats quite capable of world middleweight championship ability and honours.

shame!

Styles make fights... I think that Hatton was a level above anything that Witter ever produced.
But I think the fight would have been competitive. :box:
