Re: who is the best light heavy?
I’m one of those people who’ve never been totally sold on Bert (although obviously he is still excellent and extremely dangerous, I just don’t rate him quite as highly as most, I think he has a similar air of vulnerability as Kov always had too). So I’ve gone for Bivol, just think he’s an all-round better boxer with enough skills to win a decision.
Re: who is the best light heavy?
Sometimes I think the same, but Beter is also a very smart and well-schooled boxer, a hard-worker with great experience, who combines all that stuff with power, which is superior to anybody's else. After last bout I started to lean towards Beter again. Anyway, it's a 50-50 fight.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑19 Jun 2022, 09:18 I’m one of those people who’ve never been totally sold on Bert (although obviously he is still excellent and extremely dangerous, I just don’t rate him quite as highly as most, I think he has a similar air of vulnerability as Kov always had too). I thought it was Bert this time last year and even after Bivol beat Canelo.
I still think it’s Bert.
He’s the man to beat..

Re: who is the best light heavy?
Bivol for me, Beterbiev gonna be dangerous all the way of course but Bivol technically superior
Re: who is the best light heavy?
50/50.
Good chance Bet bangs him out. Good chance Biv outboxes him and makes him look limited.
I feel it will be one-sided. I just dunno which way.
Gut says Bivol wide UD for me. Age and skillset might be overriding factor.
No confidence in that tho.

Who has the most impressive resume?
Re: who is the best light heavy?
Beterbiev
Re: who is the best light heavy?
Bivol without a doubt and not because of Canelo only. Among other big names he has Smith and Pascal, while Beterbiev has Smith and Gvozdyk. Interestingly, Bivol's scalps of Smith and Pascal aged extremely well, while in their times they seemed quite pointless.
Re: who is the best light heavy?
Just thinking about this and came looking for a thread.
Bert is terrifying sure, if you had to chose a style/plan to beat him what would it be? And how similar is that to Bivol?

Callum Smith showed some power smoking that last dude he fought.
Seems a long time ago now. He gotta stay active as his prime years are passing him by.
A bit too comfy in those silk PJ'S after a few big pay days? Has he got the hunger to go after the top dogs?

Re: who is the best light heavy?
BIG BIG FAN of these two , and i just can't pick a winner , , You look at Biet and i watch his footwork how he slides into range and hits so hard inside i always love guys who punch hard short , its a talent that a lot of boxers don't explote ,,, but Bivol look how he controilled the range with his footwork and piston like jab against Canelo ,, but then backed it up with both hands when he needed too .
Think the real key to this fight , is the feet , will Bivol keep him at bay , will he hit hard enough to keep him from settling the feet , or will Biet be able to slide inside and let them short power punches go , , then who's got the chin to withstand the other ,, Great Fight one for the lovers of the sport i would'nt pick either completly sat on the fence for this one , IF IT HAPPENS , travesty if it does'nt

Re: who is the best light heavy?
Really i think when you look at both these fellas , you would have to come close to saying both have the style to beat the other , thats why its so intriging

Re: who is the best light heavy?
Beterbiev
It would be hard to pick a winner between them. Gvozdyk was a bit more versatile than Bivol and can fight on the inside but is not as good on the outside. He was winning but seemed too skittish wearing himself out with non stop movement and throwing too many keep away punches so he got worn down.
Bivol would stay more controlled and not move much more than he needs to so won't wear down as fast but he blocks punches rather than slip them and Beterbiev will just punch through the guard and wear him down that way.
My prediction would have to be a 11 or 12 round stoppage for Zangieff while clearly trailing on the scorecards.

Bert is one dangerous Mother F'er. Think he knocks Bivol into next week.
